Hey all, so I've just been obsessing over the ZT0200 recently, and just wanted to know what everyone else's favorite KAI brand knives are, and why, pics would be great.
reason format:
aesthetics (A)
steel and/or materials (B)
ergonomics (C)
opinion type answers, like why the materials aesthetics and such are good for you (D)
usability (E)
pricing (F)
deployment (G) if its a folder

feel free to add or take away from the format as you see fit, Im not good at that stuff:(

My reasons for the 0200 (don't own one yet sadly ::grumpy: )
A: it just looks aggresive and to me very tough and cool looking (I dont care if I dont look cool owning holding one, I just like what it looks like if I were holding it)
B: :confused: not real smart on this stuff yet
C: I did make a 1:1 scale of the grip (non texture though) and loved it
D: I like Ken onions work, I like the knife size, to me a 3- inch blade is just a waste of time (IMHO) and I wouldn't use it to often
E: N/A haven't held one
F: amazing deals out there for such a quality folder
G: N/A but I hear amazing things about it

all of this is optional, a simple name is good enough:thumbup:

That would be my green CF FrankenBlur.
A: It's a Blur. 'Nuff said.
B: CPM-154 flat ground blade. Anodized aluminum handles. Carbon fiber inserts.
C: Great ergos (it's a Blur).
D: Green is my favorite color, and I like the look of carbon fiber. It was also my first blade with CPM-154 steel.
E: Fantastic utility (again, it's a Blur).
F: Ummm... not a strong point for this one. Consumed two limited run knives (and not exactly inexpensive ones at that) to put this one together.
G: Excellent deployment (once again, it's a Blur)

Very nice flarp, ive always been skeptical of the blur, I don't know why, but that is definently a gorgeous one :thumbup:

Impossible!

0777 wins on looks, exotic materials, and bragging rights.

0400 gets the most carry time.

301 for sheer beastliness.

0200 for that feeling that's hard to verbalize, but is just really cool!

Out of those, only the 0777 is still stock :D

ZT 0350! After using a Blur my go-to 'around the house' work knife, the 0350 feels like a Blur gone... right. Confidence-inspiring grip and ruggedness. S30v steel, too! And even though it's heavier than my Blur, it's still thin enough to feel quite pocketable.

That said, I'd love a 777, 0560, 0550, and... pretty much all the new ZTs.

Favorite Kershaw: Ti ZDP Mini Cyclone. This knife has been in my pocket almost every day since April 2007. A close second is the Volt 3600. One NIB sitting in the safe and a blem for daily use.

Favorite ZT: A toss up...the 0560 CBCF or the 0550 in Elmax. While I use the 0550, the CBCF sits patiently in the safe.

Favorite Shun:Classic 7" Santoku.

I'm looking forward to getting my paws on a 0454 and 0801CF. These are two of the best examples of KAI's ability I've seen since the Speedform.

My list will change but right now:

Kershaw = Speedform II
ZT = 0561
Shun = Shun Reserve 8'' chef's knife.

Anyone post a Green CF Frankenblur yet? :D

It is the 0500 M.U.D.D.! It has a Hawk lock, and is a non assisted manual opener. It is tied for first place as my favorite ZT along with the 0360SKD!
