Recently, I've become a fan of small knives. Some feel small and really cheap, other ones are a small handful. The Spyderco Starling has a blade that's less than two inches but can take care of the majority of the daily chores I encounter.

The Buck NRG is a good keychain knife too, but I think it is out of production. The bottle opener was a good feature.

So what do you guys think the best knives that sit next to your keys are?

got an crkt peck hanging on keyring now, would like to try the A. G. Russell Ultimate Pen Knife look cool....and ideally an CRK Umfaan

the spyderco ladybug is INCREDIBLE. sad i just sold my white sprint run! it's like you took a shrink ray to a delica 4 and put it on your keychain!

I also use the SAK Classic.

Very handy, very sharp, and "acceptable" just about everywhere.

I must say that I've got a SAK classic as well. I chose white, but I'm sad because this week it turned yellow. I don't know why and it looks irreversible...

I have a SAK Classic on my key chain also. Mine is black and was generously given to me by someone on this site. Great people we've got here.

I can't tell you how many times that toothpick has come in handy!

Second the Spyderco Ladybug, Mine is the orange one, it makes it easy finding my keys in the morning too!

To somewhat hijack this thread, I know they once had the CRKT Kiss also in spear point instead of only with tanto blades. Anyone got a pointer to a store who might still have one of those lying around? I like the concept, but tanto blades just aren't my thing. Plain edge preferred, but would take serrated as well if no other available.

That was the Classic KISS, which has a really great blade shape. After it was discontinued CRKT renamed the regular KISS the Classic KISS, so good luck with Google. Here's a place with the serrated edge.

The 2/10th of an ounce A. G. Russell Ultimate Pen Knife is what I now have on my key-chain. Smallest and lightest are my criteria for a key-chain knife as it's just a backup for my normal pocket folder, a Mnandi.

Some years ago, before I had the Mnandi, I tried putting an Umfann on my key-chain. I found the Umfann a bit unwieldy when it was attached to my key-chain and it was just easier to carry it lose in the pocket.

Leatherman P4 if we are talking little multi. Spyderco Ladybug for knife

I can't get over how useful the VG-10 Ladybug is since it is always there when you need a pointy thing or a sharp thing. Not hard on the eye either.

lm macarta for me. I have a problem with the large mass of keys[U on my ring to make a small knife very usefull. Anyone else suffer that way? Otherwise just go with the "loose in pocket" small edc.

These days I keep a Leatherman Squirt S4 on my keyring. I find the scissors to be very handy and it gets less attention some places when I have to go through security than even a small knife does.

Favorite small knives that I used on my keyring in the past:
- Spyderco Orange Ladybug: love this little knife and carry it loose in my pocket these days
- Victorinox Alox Classic: same tools as the Classic but super flat
- Victorinox Rambler: only slightly thicker than a Classic but adds a magnatized small phillips and a bottle cap lifter
