I'm not gonna touch the most popular bit.

Darrel Ralph is my all-time favorite. I also love Ethan Becker. I've loved pretty much everything that Peter Rassenti has ever made, as well as Nick Wheeler, Claudio-Cas, and Ryan Weeks. Stuart Branson has made some of my favorite swords, and then there are all of the Cutlery Hall of Famers and so on. There are so many talented folks out there to aspire to.

I believe that Sal Glesser is the second most imitated knife designer and the most innovative knife designer who is still living. Saying this I also like Ken Onion's designs, Jerry Busse and Greg Lightfoot. A lot of knives are just rehashes of others designs and many only have one design that they either stretch or shrink.

In no particular order:
Sal Glesser
Eric Glesser
RJ Martin
DDR
Ken Onion
Brian Fellhoetler
Kevin Wilkins
Ken Erickson
Tony Bose
Enrique Peña
TA Davison
Ken Coats
Alan Davis
Ray Laconico
Bob Terzuola
Frank Centofante (RIP)
Bob Lum (RIP)
Blackie Collins (RIP)
Bob Loveless (RIP)
Warren Osbourne
Mike Snody
Ernest Emerson

Just too many to mention, this is a small list

There're lots of amazing knife designers in the world, but none of them have blown me out of the water the way this guy has.

A lot of designers I like have already been mentioned, so I'm gonna go ahead and say Les George, as no one mentioned him yet. Scott Cook as well.

Chris Reeve, Sal Glesser, Rick Hinderer. There are many, many other great ones but those three stand out for me.

For me it is (in no certain order):

Alan Davis
Jason Stout
Jake Hoback
Doc Shiffer
Walter Randolph
Sean Kendrick
Mike Burch
Jens Anso
Eric Ochs
John Gonzalez
Lance Abernathy
Serge Panchenko
Jeremy Marsh
Andy Fitz
John Cohea
Steven Kelly
Greg Lightfoot
JP Hammond
Nick Wheeler

I'm sure there are a few that I have missed...

Al Mar
Bob Dozier
Bob Lum

I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting Bob Lum at a knife show many years ago.

Based on what I use, I like Darrel Ralph, Matt Conable, Michael Walker, Brian Tighe, and Warren Osborne.

Josiah Gravelle
Grant & Gavin Hawk
Ken Onion
R.J. Martin
Bill Akers
Tim Galyean
Alan Davis
Oleg Krymlin

Gil Hibben
Darrel Ralph
Doug Casteel
sr. Johnson
Jim Behring (Treeman Knives)
Edmund Davidson
Nick Wheeler
Busse (Argonne Assault LB only one I like from them now)
Fehrman
Down Under Knives
Hanwei
Cold Steel
Ontario

and more...

At the risk of being labeled a heretic, I'd say Lynn Thompson. He is one of the most innovative knife designers around.

I'll keep my list brief:

Bob Lum
Pohan Leu
Kirby Lambert
Randy Doucette

It seems like a few Canadian makers have similar design aesthetics, and I dig all of them.

I'm a late coming to the party as I started collecting knives only a few years ago. Designers/knife makers I like are:

Ken Onion
Chris Reeve
Bud Neely
