Favorite knife of 2019.

You and I both Brother! The last two years was a lot of suck for me. 2020 will be amazing.

Scoring this special gold etched Bowie is right there as one of my favorite 2019 Bucks.

If you haven't shown them off already, that Bowie (is it a 124?) and your .45-70 would be a great/fantastic addition to the "Knives and Guns" thread. :)

That is a fine Bowie you has there. :)

I slowed down on my knife acquiring this past year, bought seven Buck Knives to add to my accumulation. The two favorite are both favorite because they pluck hard on nostalgia strings - ebony handled 110 and 212 Ranger fixed blade. I bought the first ebony handled Buck 110 Folding Hunter I found in 2019 - I didn't need another 110 but the ebony just called out to me (pure black on both sides) - I had to have one - bought it in March when it first hit the shelves of Gander Outdoors in Fayetteville. The next was the Buck 212 Ranger, it certainly hearkens back to the 1940's Buck Knives with its blade grind and style. I ordered it from C&C in July. I have so many user Folding Hunters that this one is still unused (but removed from the sealed package, and the packaging tossed, the day I bought it). OH

My aluminum framed 110 with paper stone scales is easily my favorite knife of 2019. It is pretty much perfect.

^^ Me too ^^

Mine has micarta scales and like Grateful, I think its pretty much perfect. Easily my most carried knife for 2 years running. It took me well over a month to adjust to the entirely different feel and balance of the aluminum frame but once I did, there is no going back for every day carry. I think this knife has the potential to settle in as my mainstay for years to come.

Related... the other knife/tool I carry every single day is my Leatherman Micra. The shears cut through electrical wires and zip ties easily and the tool collection handles 85% of what a pliers based tool will handle for most day to day chores (minus the pliers, obviously).

It's worth mentioning the Micra in a Buck-oriented thread for this reason... I have the freedom to carry a large folder like the 110 because the Micra handles so much of my day to day tool needs that I no longer feel compelled to have a full-sized multitool on my belt or back pocket any more. For many years, I gave up on the large folders I loved because I wanted tools with me so I carried a variety of full sized MTs. I hated MTs as knives (and still do) but I wasn't interested in carry 2 pocket/belt bricks so I ditched the large folder.

I've been carrying the Micra for well over a decade now and and am so glad that an old-timer at work advised me to put one my pocket where I would use it (as opposed to my key ring where it hung entangled with keys). The Micra allowed me to move the MT to my day pack and to replace with a large traditional folder, which then allowed me to come back to my first love, the 110.

JB turned me onto this aluminum 110.
And it really is a nice knife. Very capable, yet light. And the pocket clip is cool.
These are worthy of some attention.
It's everything I like about a 110, but light like some of the other folders I carry. ie Vantage.

If it were not for this forum, I'm not sure I would have found it on my own.

Those 212s are great too.
Some of the limited editions this past year were good grabs.

I really like 112s too. The elephant ivory one is a sweet example!
Has Buck made an aluminum 112?

The BCCI has a take apart aluminum 112 with Ironwood scales coming out soon!

The BCCI Take apart will be the first aluminum frame 112.. The Elephant Ivory 112 I posted is the only Nickel silver frame one that I have seen. The finger grooves probably makes it unique. Its Old Custom shop but no letter or number. Just recently I purchased a Mastodon Ivory brass frame that was the last Custom shop 112 (0136) that was sent to a dealer in Virginia back in 1993. I've looked forward to the Aluminum frame as it's a milestone in the history of the 112. I'm sure it won't be the last.

My favorite 2019 Buck is the simple but excellent Ebony scaled 110 Folding Hunter. Close second is the seemingly under-appreciated 293 Inertia flipper.

Not exactly special, but I carry and use my burlap sprint pro a lot.

I did't use the orange 110LT as much but it did get carried a fair bit as part of my oh shit kit on hikes with the wife and baby. Actually just passed this one on to my father in law since his old buck was getting pretty rough looking from decades of use and sharpening. Luckily, another great forum member had an extra he was willing to sell me.
