Favorite knife?

I have the 1st-generation Yojimbo, and while there's a lot to like about the knife, it didn't quite work for me. Mainly, the extended strike-pommel is just a tad too aggressive in configuration. Whether IWB or in the pocket, it protrudes a bit too much...Yeah, it's great for a fast tactical draw, but for me, it doesn't conceal well enough.

The second-gen Yojimbo looks like an improvement in that regard, plus the ergos look really nice.

I may just have to pick one up... :)

I was watching a review of the original a few days ago and it really seems like they improved a lot of the inelegant aspects of the original. Aside from the wharncliffe blade I'm honestly not much of a fan of the original either. They did away with the impact tool handle, and the blade/handle ratio is much more balanced. The blade in the Y2 is substantial and feels brutal in hand. They also got rid of the lanyard tube to fit more blade in the handle, and you really feel it.

Here's a picture of how it looks tip-up in my pocket. It carries a bit differently tip-down-- more top heavy, which I didn't like as much.

DB Fraley Torrent & my XM-18.

If I had to choose 1 knife, it would be my XM-18.

This is my favorite by far. It is a Nessie made by Dan Pierson from a KITH.

It is a beautiful Nessmuck style knife that George Washington Sears would have been happy to carry. It has lightly spalted stabilized curly maple handles, a 3/32” A2 blade that shaves and is accented with copper pins.

Hey, Appletz -- thanks for the pic and additional feedback. I have to say -- on top of the ergonomic and practicality improvements, the Y2 just looks better.

The Y1 now serves as my "nightstand knife" alongside a .38 -- a role it performs handsomely... :D

Sorry for the lack of pics, but my favorite for about the last 6 months or so has been my digi-camo Spyerco Military with the black DLC blade. I've got larger hands, so the handle fits me perfectly and rides really well in the pocket.

Hey its cool. I started a picture thread and didnt even start it with a picture. ( i have no idea how to post pictures!)
