favorite knives that don't get EDC'ed....

I would say that the zt561 is my favorite folder. Mine came perfect. It's wonderful art. I had it for about 3 weeks and then I was able to buy another knife that was on my list, the Benchmade Adamas.
Then something wierd has happened, I can't get the Adamas out of my pocket. Although it is comfortable ( I carved a spoon with it ), it's more blocky than the 561, it's heavier than the 561, and the 561 has more style points than the Adamas.
It has made me think,
Has this happened to any of you, where the knife that you carry isn't your all-time fave? Why I feel guilty about an inanimate object I'll never know, at least I have my lifetime to piddle around with all of them.
I accept that I am odd- but it's an oddness that isn't so odd around here........
Thanks,
John

I love my Mnandi but I don't carry it anywhere near often enough. Last night was the first time I've carried it in probably six months or so.

Benchmade 950 Rift. Love the knife but whenever I have it on me I just want to have it in my hands so I have to settle for less fun, more practical knives to EDC.

Lately Ka-Bar Dozier has been my fav EDC. Light, solid, and affordable to abuse and replace.

ZT302.

Actually any ZT that I have, the 3 inch limit law here kind of gets in the way.

I love my Kershaw Titanium Tyrade, but it rarely ever gets carried. I take it out and lovingly caress it, but for some reason, I don't end up putting it in my pocket. I think it's the difficulty in clipping and unclipping it to the top of the pocket. The Carbon Fiber inlays just catch going in and coming out of the pocket.

ZT 300 and Kershaw Leek. Love both designs but don't like AO in general.

Benchmade Adamas - such a great knife - just solid, ergonomic and tough but a bit large-ish for EDC (for me).

SOG Tomcat 3 - just evil looking (and let's face it, that's important.. haha), great ergonomics, but not as practical as some others.

BM 635. Probably my favorite folder, just doesn't seem to get pocket time. At first because it was too nice to risk damaging a nib discontinued knife. So I got a user, but even that doesn't end up in my pocket much.

Benchmade 581 Barrage in M390 is an beautiful knife with great steel. but my Paramilitary II is so nice and thin in the pocket and has such great ergos I carry it every day. the barrage is just a little big for EDC and could use a little jimping for your thumb, but its a work of art and I will probably never get rid of it.

I just went threw my collection and started changing over pocket clips (last night actually) thinking that would make a difference if i put the clip on the other side. Between my benchmades and CRK I haven't' been using any of the others.....not even my 560zt which I love. ( and yes there is guilt for some strange reason). Maybe some of the old timers can help us nooby's out with how to deal with these feelings. :)

My Spyderco Gayle Bradley is one of my all-time favorite knives. But I end up keeping it at my desk or in my pack rather than EDC'ing it. The problem is that it is just a bit too heavy for comfortable carry - and I end up grabbing one of my Paramilitaries or my Stretch instead. I love the Bradley to death, but don't carry it much - unless I'm out in the woods on a camping trip...

Not one, not two, not three, not four...I've got six knives I
wish I could edc all at once: xm-18 3.5, small sebenza 21,
benchmade 755, spyderco native, spyderco tuff & fallkniven f1,
but alas the caly 3 trumps.

It's actually beginning to be my favorite.

Thanks Guys
Today I forced myself to carry something besides my Adamas. It was my zt0301.
Hey, small steps. hehe
