favorite knives that don't get EDC'ed....

Mine may be a bit unusual. A Kershaw 1993-2 lockback. I wish I could post pics, but have no camera... It is just a perfect black micarta handle and a really perfect (and beautiful) blade. The most simple design, but perfectly executed. I paid more for other knives that I do carry.. but the discontinued nature of this one, I just can't use it. if I could ever find another, I'd edc it and keep the other one in my drawer, looking good.... sometimes I do carry it, in the belt sheath, just because it makes me happy.. but there is still a one hander in my front pocket and a traditional in my back pocket so the kershaw never really gets used.. kind of sad really.. and then I see the knives other guys carry on the forums, and I think, a 100 dollar knife, maybe I should beat on it! it does feel great in the hand:D

My Boker trigonaught and becker BK14's are great but the neck chains aren't doing it for me. I got a pocket clip for one of the 14's but it needs some tweeking to work. My CRKT ringed razel occasionally gets carried but I usually go for something more subtle. I have all four from the spyderco "ambitious line" but aside from fondling and briefly carrying two of them they are still NIB. And my cold steel rajah II, it's just too big for EDC but it's great for the woods.

I would say that the zt561 is my favorite folder. Mine came perfect. It's wonderful art. I had it for about 3 weeks and then I was able to buy another knife that was on my list, the Benchmade Adamas.
Then something wierd has happened, I can't get the Adamas out of my pocket. Although it is comfortable ( I carved a spoon with it ), it's more blocky than the 561, it's heavier than the 561, and the 561 has more style points than the Adamas.
It has made me think,
Has this happened to any of you, where the knife that you carry isn't your all-time fave? Why I feel guilty about an inanimate object I'll never know, at least I have my lifetime to piddle around with all of them.
I accept that I am odd- but it's an oddness that isn't so odd around here........
Thanks,
John
How are you liking your Adamas? I was thinking about getting one, how is it for edc purposes?

I use to have a lot of knives that I didn't carry because there was just too many to rotate with so I ended up selling most of my productions and starting buying customs and midtechs only. I kind of regret doing so, so I recently bought a manix 2 sprint with m4 steel and love it.

Quality over quantity for me! I carry what I buy or I sell it.

I know this question wasn't directed to me but i have to say...

Its an awesome knife, you don't even feel the weight. The weight it does have is good weight. There is a huge chunk of d2 for the blade and honestly its been carried as much as my endura ffg since April. I think its one of the best knifes for the dollar in Benchmades line up. Hope this helps.

Spyderco Rock Lobster and Benchmade 15020. They don't see much light with my sng in my pocket...

I have to agree with OP about the strange new love for the Adamas! My two always carry EDC's were the Para 2 and the ZT350, but since I picked up the 275 Adamas I can't stop reaching for it in the morning when I'm getting ready for work! At first I thought it was just the honeymoon phase I go through with most new knives but as the weeks and months rolled on I always find myself carrying it. It really is a high value, tough as nails knife and if you're ok with carrying a heavier blade, I cannot recommend it enough!

Well, I've got a trigonaut that I don't carry much.

It's a great knife, sharp as hell, and carries NICE!!!! but it just doesn't fill the role of "general fixed blade tasks, under 3.5" like my rat3 does.

I also don't mind abusing my rat, but I wouldn't expect the trigonaut to be up to the tasks I want a fixed blade for........

My les george vecp 2.0 is my favorite knife, but I don't carry it because it's a bit too big for practical use. My actual EDC that I carry and use the most is actually my small sebenza.

Sorry bout the three day lag time to answer. Too much on my plate. I have tried to qualify why I like the Adamas so much ( even when I extolled the virtues of the 0561-which I still believe) and the 275 is a well though out knife: It feels solid in hand. The g-10 is smooth with lines cut into it and so it doesn't slip with usage. There are no sharp angulared edges anywhere to abrade your hands. The axis lock is oversize, so its easier to disengage. The tan color is rockin' with the black blade. When the knife is clipped inside your pocket you can reach into your pocket and not scrape your hand like countless other knives out there. The negatives are big and bulky- like a 1911- but *like* a 1911,you carry it *because* it's a 1911.

I absolutely love my CRKT Ripple and feel it's one of the better production folders I own. I recently went through a phase of obsession with it like I tend to do with nearly all of my knives, however I've moved on and am going through one of my traditional spells again and that spell may have been partially accountable for my lost of interest paired with the redundancy of my modern folders. Another grand folder I own and believe is a testament to the quality of newly manufactured production knives is my ZT200 with that being said it's a tad on the large side and can be a real drag to carry at times so for that reason it resides at home mostly.

My JYD II, only because of the HUGE clip.
Might as well carry around a huge sign that says "I have a knife in my pocket"
And since locking OHO isn't allowed here without a good reason, it stays at home mostly :(

This may be my favorite knife out of the 30+ I own, but I just can't bring myself to carry it. :o

I used to carry a SAK or some other small pocket knife in the front left pocket next to my cell phone but ever since I've been using nicer smart phones I keep knives out of that pocket to avoid scratching the phone. Now my knives have to have clips and they get carried in the back left pocket.

Benchmade 810 Contego. I love the steel, I love axis lock, I love the feel of the knife, but its just too damn big to haul around in my pocket most days...

I like the 550/551 size okay, but with ZT, that's as large as I'll buy. Anything bigger, I'll need a backpack. If I can't get it out of my pocket, I won't carry it. If I can't carry it, I don't want it.
