Been that way since Newtown/Sandy Hook one year ago. Best thing to do is stock a 1-2 year supply and decide on a reorder point for yourself to bring stockage back up to a 1-2 year supply. Saw the writing on the wall as I've lived through the previous panics. Friday, 14 Dec 12, I heard of Sandy Hook on the radio driving home. Saturday 15 Dec 12, I got on-line and ordered two cases of CCI- SV, a case of 5.56mm, and a case of 9mm. Had plenty of powder, primers, and bullets for other cartridges so wasn't worried about that. Since then, I've also picked up a case of Sellier & Bellot SV. That on top of the ~ case and a half of .22LR cartridges I already had on hand. My son and I haven't slowed down our .22LR range time which is quite frequent. I'll never come close to coming up short again I can help it.I've noticed a lack of .22lr just about everywhere. Snagged a box or two, but it's not easily found on shelves. Any others noticed this?
Also since standard fair .22LR cartridges are harder to find and then often being sold at premium prices with ridiculous purchase limits often causing the purchase price to equal shipping costs, it is a good time to check out premium target ammo like Eley Club, Tenex, etc (and there is usually no purchase limit on these). Can't believe more plinkers haven't done this while then paying, and griping about it, premium prices for non-premium cartridges. If your going to pay premium prices, might as well buy premium cartridges.
