I love machetes. They are cheap, fun, and useful.
What machetes do you own and/or what are your favorites?

My favorite would be my kukri machete by the KA-BAR company. It's very hard not to love that platform.

I like them all, don't make me choose just one gun either. :)

My most prctical for my terrain is the CS Kukri

Is it bad that I really want the Cold Steel Gladiator machete? It looks like an actual Roman sword

I'm not really a machete guy, but I do like my Cold Steel 12" barong machete (now discontinued). It's a tough little chopper.

My Baryonyx Machete, but I'm naturally a bit biased since I designed it myself. :p I have a lot of favorites for different tasks, but if I could only have one, that'd be it.

Just got it and it's defiantly a heavy machete but the Kabar Parangatang, is quickly becoming my favorite.

My favorite is the Condor Speed Machete as it has the most comfortable handle of all my machetes. (it also takes a really nice edge)

+1 for the Ontario 18in. Had mine for over three years now and I've beat it to hell ad back, still holding up well through 3 seasons of trail and forestry work. She can do everything from assisting in a slash cut and hacking up tree branches to clearing out root clumps to starting my fires. I rounded the very end and ricasso for use as a draw knife and for choking up on it. In between those two points I sharpened it to 90* for scraping bark and such. I had another on which I cut down to a golock but it was stolen (I never cared for it anyway). On my current one I left the tip as is but hit a stone with it so its a bit flatter and more spade like in shape after I re-sharpened it. I love this machete design, I consider it damn near perfect (and I've used some machetes) for my environment and uses. Heavy bugger though at ~24oz but the balance and speed/power ratio is excellent.

My only machetes are the Ontario 12's, both thin and thick versions and I've been very pleased with them. They can take a good edge and a lot of hard use. Fun to mod too. From what I've read some people break them, but they can handle everything I ever need to do.

Here is my CS Bowie Machete when I first got it over a year ago, it doesn't look all brand new anymore because I use it a lot and it is my favorite machete out of my current machete collection. It has a wicked clip pointed blade that pierces very good and this machete chops through wood pretty good also.
