I'm surprised how much I like my 557 SBK Serrated Tanto.
I don't do a lot of slicing, so the lack of a curved cutting edge isn't really a problem. The sharp angle in the blade basically gives me 2 points to work with, which is handy. And the flay part near the tip is perfect for scraping or smoothly cutting something off a flat surface (stickers on glass, etc.) The reinforced tip come in handy when stabbing through tougher things like wood, drywall, and just yesterday, stainless steel chimney liner. I even get a lot of use out of the serrations.
The only problem I have with it is that it is very hard to sharpen on a Spyderco Sharpmaker. But I've gotten very good at sharpening it with a stone.
Unfortunately, one of the springs in it just broke, so it has to go back to Benchmade for service.
I will be getting a Ritter some time soon, so I'll have something to compare it to.
