Favorite new model purchase of 2017?

ZDP is a good steel, but what knife is it? Or you bought all ZDP Spydercos? :)
LOL, whoops!
I picked up a Stretch. Had never held one before and basically have been carrying it every day for months now.

Another vote for the Shaman.

This year I became a big Spyderco fan, I had a Manix 2 and PM2 before, but the more I handle their stuff, the more I’m impressed with the quality and value.

The Shaman surprised me. It’s a hard use folder that’s light and disappears in my work pants. Also it’s relatively inexpensive so I don’t feel bad using it.

Looking forward to some sprint runs.

Has to be my ZT 456 and
zt0456
and my Ultratech Microtech

sorry about no picture seems that the Forums picture posting ability is not working well today. :-(

Here's another favorite--a new variation on a popular knife--a Spyderco Tenacious in red over translucent G10. A Tenacious black G10 satin combo-edge was my gateway knife and I have a real soft spot for that model. This new-for-2017 version makes my 4th to go along with the original, a green G10, and a blue G10. I bought one as a Christmas gift for my buddy who's worked with me for a few weeks on my remodeling project and couldn't resist getting one for myself. You sure do get your money's worth with one of these value-line Spydies.

Koenig Arius & Olamic 247 are tied so far need more time to decide winner is :D
Been lucky enough to have a few xtra $ this year

My wife gave me a nifty xmas gift ZT 0220 and it is right up there in the hunt for pocket time

OK, here's another favorite (I mean, I can have more than one, right?). This Knife dropped in late August '17, I bought it off the Exchange just before New Year's, and picked it up at my PO yesterday. I'm really impressed with this Giant Mouse GM3 for overall design, F&F, and, above all, how great it is in hand for what's to me a small knife. It has super smooth action, flies open, has an excellent clip, and disappears in the pocket. The M390 blade has a great grind, a nicely domed spine, and I even like the nail nick for more discreet opening.

Ever since I sold/traded my small 21 Seb, I've been looking for a high-quality smallish knife. I do like my ZT0450, especially after adding a CF scale to pair more nicely with my 0452, and have been real pleased with my North Arm Skaha as well. I bought an RHK HalfTrack recently and like that too, but it's more of a hard-use small knife than a more gentlemanly or refined blade.

Someone wrote in another thread that the GM3 is sort of a cross between a CRK and a Shiro, and I find that description pretty much spot on. I was real happy to find this one with only a couple negligible marks on it for 25% off the new price. I know I'll end up at some point with a Shirogorov Neon UltraLight, but this one's a real beauty at half the price.

My favorite for a knife to carry and use has to be the Native 5 (bought S110V & Maxamet). I liked it enough to get the 40th anniversary model for fun. My favorite knife in terms of design is the TAD Dauntless by Hawk, the mechanism of the lock and detent is fun.

I have been considering another Sebenza for sometime but that seals it for me. My next one will be one of those!

Unfortunately, the Halloween CCG, is different each year. Last years was the first, this one is the second CCG and next years will be different also.
They may have some in stock, the second batch was late getting made.

This beaut. Surprisingly one of my favorites from 2017, wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do. Close second favorite is my Reate K-3 Tanto

You have Ruined my night. I never saw this knife before and I just fell head over heels. It's simple, clean lines, didn't mess with all kinds of washings and scale colors. It is an unadulterated knife with a great blade shape and it looks comfortable in the hand. I must get one. Are their any pitfalls that you can tell me about before I buy it?

Same exact feeling I had when I first saw it. It's got contoured handles too which make it extremely comfortable in hand, and I'm fairly certain it has multi-row bearings, it is really smooth. No issues with mine, but I wish mine had a sliiiiightly stronger detent, but I have a feeling I just got a touch softer detent by luck. I opted for the bead blast titanium finish over the stonewash finish.

this blade looks great in specs all around. I just can't stand floating thumbstuds (pet peeve). If it functions for the lock is one thing .....but they just stick out like a sore thumb....and it makes it hard to reprofile or make a nicer satin finish down the road.

I do see myself maybe, owning this knife down that road (because the axis lock, is the knife version of a fidget spinner for me) if I lose my current right pocket carry folder.
