I'm a teacher and this is my week off. I was looking at my blades and it occurred to me that I need a lot more Busses. I was also considering other blades I prize. People, from time to time, mention other knives they really like. I know Busses come first but what other knives are people's favorites, for edc or just to admire. I am attaching a picture of one of my favorites, a newly acquired Crowfoot.

Barry Dawson "Dark knight." 12inch blade, 1/4inch thick, Overall 16in.

I bought this one to go with my AK-47. As few months back, I was asking Busse to hv something smaller, faster than AK-47 from Busse. Jerry came with Ruck, which I thought it is still too long. Then I found Barry's Dark Knight, it is perfect.

I still wish it is a Busse or it is INFI, but Barry does fantastic job on his custom & "Price". Just can't say any less about him or his blades.

I have a Siegle on its way that I have a pretty good feeling about, but right now it is the David Wesner KC-4 ...I have a soft spot for Big Blades!!! The one all the way to the left.

I like all my knives. The crowfoot is a great little piece, I also like my Rangers and CRK one pice. The only ones I dont really care for in my collectiom are the TOPS. As far as folders I really like my MOD, Dalton and RES. My wife really loves her unique Sebbie. A person can never have enough knives!

Well... must be this one:

Got it from my friend Bill in 2005... with a promise, that I'd never part with it

For a non-Busse production folder you can't beat the Spyderco Lil' Temperance (in CPM S30V, plain edge).

Custom folder-wise, I handled some Bob Dozier folding hunters last weekend and they are SICK. Smoothest action and tightest lockup I've ever seen. I hear he doesn't even use any lube on the pivot. Just perfect tolerances. You have to handle it to believe it. I don't have one yet, but I will some day.

My favorite non-Busse fixed blade is the SRKW Bandicoot. I have an INFIcoot in the mail, so that may be replaced the standard Bandi.

Being near a city, smaller is better for stress free EDC. Picking a favorite is nearly impossible, LOL, would take all year, but this one shows potential for becoming an EDC favorite. Not my first blade from Josh & Jon Graham (The Brothers Graham!), but my first Razel. I just got it yesterday from AZC Knives (Thx, Julie!!). It has a Paul Bos heat treated Damasteel blade, file worked thumb rest and ironwood over red liners on the handle. The Sheath is croc skin with a clip for deep pocket carry. :D It's a scraper/slasher!! Handy.

A great buy on a EDC blade that isn't a Busse would have to be on the smaller Barry Dawson fixed blades. I've got a VERY well loved one lying around here somewhere that I've been using for some time now. They're made of 440C, but his heat treatment is spot on. They perform as well as is possible for 440C. Easy to sharpen to hair popping every time. Got my hands on a MMHW too, VERY well made. Solid, time tested materials too.

Of course you can't go wrong with CRK either. I love my Sebenza and one piece. I might end up replacing the Seb with a INFI folder though :D.

Here's a piece I used to have by Barry Dawson, there were four made like it in four different sizes. I believe Wuyeah's is the largest one. Mine was the smallest I believe.

Graham Bros & Krein knives , quality knives and reasonable prices
R J Martin 's knives are also great

Another with a David Wesner as my favorite non-Busse. Absolutely amazing chopping performanance! An A2 blade that's 12-3/8" long!

Nice collection. I almost missed the Crowfoot. I must agree about the Tops. Well made but poorly designed. Edges are way too thick and for the money they should use a higher grade of steel. I really like most of Simonich's stuff. Shame he's no longer with us. His wife, Christine is a fine lady.

I have a variety of folders- but when I'm at work I carry an Emerson. Built tough, the wave makes them the fastest folder out there- and great fit and finish...I have a pair, an HD-7 and an SOCFK-A.
