Favorite non-Busse

My pre Busse EDC, got the Ek in the 80's, the Anza around 91, carried them till I found Busse replacements, a LrMS and a SJ.

All my fixed are Busses. My EDC folder will be a regular Sebenza, this may chance when the Nuclear Folder will be released some day :D

Here's a piece I used to have by Barry Dawson, there were four made like it in four different sizes. I believe Wuyeah's is the largest one. Mine was the smallest I believe.

Wow.....What are you talking about! Mine looks nothing like yours
I did not know they Barry got Damascus going on! Not to forget meantion your handle!! Man...mine looks nothing like that..:( I gotta stop winning, if mine looks like that then it won't be $600.00 LOL

black oxy non-stainless high carbon is what i have, seems like most pieces are like that from Barry I thought. Start to see less of 440C from Barry.

Holy crap Gravel those are nice. Being somewhat new (and really poor at the moment) to nice knife buying my collection is very meager compared to those above. I dont even own a busse or a SWRT yet. But i have a feeling that'll change soon. so for right now my favorite non Busse is my RAT-7 in 1095, i took out today and chopped, cut, and sliced til i was worn out. the blade took it all and after i put a wicked edge back on in about 10 min.

Another with a David Wesner as my favorite non-Busse. Absolutely amazing chopping performanance! An A2 blade that's 12-3/8" long!

Looks like that thing is bigger than Battle Mistress
I thought BM is the Biggest in "knife" catagory:rolleyes:

As far as folders go I read Cliff Stamp's stuff and it appeared that the Spyderco Paramilitary out cut almost everything. I bought one and have to agree. Great edge and the Sharpmaker is made to sharpen those knives. Takes about a second to get it razor sharp. Opens and closes easily with one hand. Great knife.

i'm a huge fan of my protech TR-3, been in my pocket pretty much every day since i got a couple of years ago.

Speaking of edc I have to say my Bitteroot is my favorite because it is always around my neck. Fantastic design, its really a big tiny knife with a blade length of 1.75 inches.

I have been wanting one of those but could never find one for sale. I have also thought about picking up a Buck Hartsook. both look like extreme useful "tiny" knives.

I bought the Hartsook for my daughter and was very disappointed. It is certainly razor sharp but the blade is so thin it is more like a single edge razor than a real knife. The Bitteroot is a real knife with a blade that is 0.125 inches thick. The buck is literally half that thickness and very difficult to hold without some sort of wrap on the handle.

I was thinking the buck would be good as a skinner, one to get bloody and stinky from fish and other game. No handle slabs or moving parts to get gunked up.

There are other knives besides Busse?????

I have a couple of Chris Reeve knives, a Bark River, a Falkniven and an ontario knife that all see some use..

I've got to get some mineral spirits to clean up that stag, either that stuff will evaporate when sealed or someone stole it and left me with an empty can. the knife is a gem though, blackjack doesn't make them like that anymore.

I have a Graham Brothers Razel, Stag & Steel EDC with G11 scales, and a slight recurve in 1075 and Blackwood from Matt Bailey(Derkins on BF).

They all are nice.

Variety is good.

First one I made (helped make) and my first sheath.
