Hi Skeletor,
The one Simon at Tora sent me is great, It is their Officers model.Its the middle one here between a Foxys folly & an old M43.

Its The only kukri I have without a sharpening bevel, it is full convex ground right back to the fuller. Tora call this a Japanese style hira zukuri blade. It Arrived sharp & after a few strokes on the extra fine diamond & stropping on the horse leather it shaves the hairs of my arm. It also will cut the skin on my hand under its own weight with no push or pull! Scary to think what it would do on a full power swing!
Guess some people wouldnt like the lack of an obvious sharpening bevel as the blade may get scratched during hand sharpening, But personaly I like its style, And I sharpen carefully.
Its 19in long & weights 19oz.
The horn used for the handle is good quality & fully seasoned, & comferable, although made for Caucasion hand size.{Rather than Oriental.} {personaly I prefer the small antique size handles as I am only 5ft8 or 9 tall.}
The blade strikes me as a kami trying to do his best work rather than racing the clock. Even his signature in Devangari looks like it took some time. A single, well done fuller & carfully done sword of Shiva as well.
I realy like the blade shape & point as I dont like the more rounded, blunter looking points, I like a point to be a point!
This would definaly penetrate!
The Hamon, is just visible under the right lighting & shows a nice area covered, fairly deepley along the belly to fairly close to the tip.
The standerd looking Karda & chakma are forged rather than cut from sheet steel & hardend correctly, Actualy The chakma is the hardest one I have.
This Officers model is very fast, Definatly martial arts orientated.
I am very happy with this one its definatly a keeper.
Cheers,
Spiral
