What's you favorite oil for cleaning and lubing your knives? Break-Free CLP, FP-10, RemOil, etc?

Mineral Oil.

Non-toxic, odorless, slick as hell, and cheap.

One bottle and an applicator will last you a lifetime.

I've never had problems with lint or dirt. Actually, I've ran into these problems more with tuf-glide than I ever have with mineral oil.

hit it square on the head:thumbup:
mineral oil for all mine, works great, cheap and food safe, have the same big bottle from the grocery now for 2+ years and still not half way through and it gets used on all sharp and pointy in my house:)

Another thumbs up for mineral oil. With my Mini Trapper I cut up a lot of fresh fruit. Have you ever tasted Mil Tec oil. Works great but bad taste stays in your mouth for about 5 days.

3-in-1 oil, in the metal can. (You can't squeeze the new plastic ones. :grumpy: ) I'm sentimental, though, so there's probably something better out there.

thx - cpr

Zoom-Spout turbine oil (Ace Hardware)....good stuff, it`s like a 5 to 10 weight non-detergent oil....

Mineral oil? What is that? Is it like crisco or olive oil? Will oive oil work?

No...MINERAL oil, *not* vegetable oil.... I know an old-school collector of Japanese swords, and he swears by a mineral oil/ clove oil mix as a metal preservative....
