Zdp-189 would be great but being a Japanese steel will never happen. Cruwear I would like to see.

3V/XHP Nichols Damascus/Fluted Zirc would be my dream Sprint lol! More down to earth I would like to see Z-Wear/Cruwear/3V/4V in any handle other than Orange or Yellow.

PD1 if ever it is made...

or maxamet!!

I have one user PM2's in CTS-20CP, M390, CTS 204P, S35VN, and S110V. In my everyday use I cannot tell a difference. That being said before I EDC'd each of them I put them on a WE and dropped them all to a 15 per side bevel, and let me tell ya, you REALLY see the difference on the sharpening bench.... S35VN wasn't bad. Followed by M390/CTS 204P which were obviously very close, then a step up to CTS 20CP then another step up to S110V.

I'm looking forward to trying out trying out the M4.

Sorry to be a debbie downer but... I passed on the M4 PM2. M4 is a great steel for a lot of people. Just not me. I own a GB2 and M4 sharpens like a dream and all of its properties are fantastic except for one, corrosion resistance. My GB2 had rust spots starting literally 2 weeks after I got it and that is with a disassembly and Tuf Cloth wipe down. I know its just bad luck but my feelings are soured for M4, and I am all about stainless. With edge retention a close second.

Did you ever try forcing a patina to help with "bad rust"

I'm a stainless guy as well but it's PM2 so I gotta have one

I have had rust issues with a M4 Bradley Air and a PD 1 knife until I forced a patina using lemon juice; since then no problems at all. Just wipe it down at the end of the day when I pull it out for the evening and after each use.

If I decide to carry the M4 PM2, I imagine I'll force a patina on it as well.

I agree with this. Had the same problem with rust spots shortly after I got my GB1. And I thought I was taking care of the blade. Can t use m4 near the water. Too bad.

I have them all and they are all used S90V is my favorite but I've only carried my M4 for 2 days and it's been great so we'll see.

but its a grate tool steel, one must learn to ether baby it with a light coat of oil once a week!or give it patina treatment, love my GB.1's and have had no problems with rust or pitting spots on the three i own,as i live by the sea and always damp weather hear!with light coat of some kind of oil treatment one should never have rusting, love to own the PM2/M4 if i could afford it!hope these come down in price one day! but the M4 is one fine steel, its just not for some folks.:(

My M4 Para2 has been hands down the sharpest and best cutter/slicer for me . It's amazing how well it cuts. I haven't had to sharpen it yet but I imagine the way it holds a edge it's not going to be easy .
With that being said it's exceeded my expectations 👍
I haven't had any issues with corrosion but I wipe it down once or twice a day and have only put some Flitz on it once in the week I've had it . That's what I do with all my blade steel regardless and actually enjoy it so it's not a problem or hassle .

I am glad you like the steel. To make matters even better M4 actually sharpens quite easily. It is actually a very remarkable blade steel.

That's awesome !
I'm glad to hear that because to be honest I was dreading sharpening when it eventually needed it because of how well it performs and holds a edge .
I've been just hitting it lightly on my leather strap with some green to try and maintain the edge even though it showed no sign of wear or dullness for my light duty use thus far .

I really like my s35vn Para 2 resists corrosion, decent edge holding, pretty tough in my uses. It's a good all around knife.
