I never used to pay much attention to them, but the last few months they have meant a great deal to me. They serve as sign posts, or maybe traffic cones, that keep me on the path.

So if you'd be so kind to share your favorite quotes here I'd much appreciate it:) I'm shooting for positive ones, but heck if you've got funny or weird or downright disturbing ones feel free to throw them into the mix!

Here's one I found recently:

Not to mention the one in blue in my sig line--I try and remember that as many times a day as I can--makes one hellava difference in how my days turn out!

This one in particular is extremely relevant to me--and of course it is NOT by "coincidence" that it is so;)

Every morning I wake up and try to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

That's great! Is that your own creation?

Great thread Rob! Not my best, but one that has seemed to resonate with some aspects of my life:

"Life is like a s&^t sandwich. The more bread you have, the less s&^t you eat."

Another one I heard growing up, that is a bit harsh I guess:

"A man only says that he did the best he could when he has failed."

And finally, one that I use at work constantly:

My crazy coach in high school used to keep a bunch of Lombardie quotes posted all over the locker room. One that i read everyday (not because i found it that profound, but because it was hanging right over the water fountain) was

"Perfection is not obtainable. But if you chase perfection, you will catch excellence."

One from my father reflecting on the ins and outs of running a business:
"Son, it's always something...an it's never good."

One from me to my young employees that like to piss and moan when i have them do something unpleasant around the office:
"Com'on, it'll be good for ya. It'll make a man out of ya...and not in that weird prison sort of way."

From Los Alamos National Laboratory:

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you."

Added Factoid: Los Alamos has the highest percapita number of churches and suicides in the United States.

Among the hills, when you sit in the cool shade of the white poplars, sharing the peace and serenity of distant fields and meadows - then let your heart say in silence, "God rests in reason."

And when the storm comes, and the mighty wind shakes the forest, and thunder and lightning proclaim the majesty of the sky, - then let your heart say in awe, "God moves in passion."

And since you are a breath In God's sphere, and a leaf in God's forest, you too should rest in reason and move in passion.

(Kahlil Gibran)
