I prefer Victorinox. My favorite 3 are:

1. a discontinued 2-blade red metal model that was very thin
2. Champ with survival kit
3. the Executive

Does anyone know the name of the 2-blade red metal? They were like the current Excelsior, but with thin metal slabs.

The Mechanic and the Super Tinker,

The Mechanic has Pliers, the pulling kids teeth it works great!

The Super Tinker, has magnifing glass and a phillips that comes out the end so it's more useable.

Victorinox is the manufacturer of these two, didn't know there was another maker of Swiss Army Knives......

(had the other but didn't cut the mustard)

There can be ONLY ONE!

Victorinox is far superior tp Wenger, in my opinion.

As for me I carry a Spartan with a small eyeglass screwdriver on the corkscrew.

If you use the "advanced search" feature at www.swis-knife.com and type the word "Pionnier" as the knife name, a large group of Ribbed Alox knives will show up on the list. One of the ones that are 31.00 CHF (Swiss francs- about $20 US) is the Farmer model, although it is not listed as such.
Hope this helps!

Definitely try to get the Farmer. Mine has survived 20 years and still has the sharpest wood saw I have ever seen.

Thanks! I found the right place on swiss-knife.com. They even have a model for 34.00 CHF which is like the Electrician model but with a saw! I've been carrying the electrician (like soldier, but with a sheepsfoot blade instead of can opener) for 8 years or so and have been pleased with it. The metal handle Victorinox knives are much stronger than the plastic.

Victorinox, I think because they seem to hold a better edge. My personal favorite is the Officer's model with saw (a buddy of mine figures his saved his life when he got shipwrecked on the upper Skeena River in northern BC one October), plus the scissors (very useful) and the corkscrew (never know when you'll be attacked by a cork) with the little glasses hinge screwdriver that fits into the corkscrew. Also, SAKs are PC.
