Throwing up a post before I buy. Looking to increase my collection with the Victorinox Steel Series Farmer w/o scissors. Wondering what competitors if any exist. I can't stand glued on scales which is why the Steel Series appeals to me. Searching for something small and with bolted or riveted scales; MKM Malga, Boker Plus Tech Tool, etc... Not 100% sure what I'm looking for. Probably nothing out there, but maybe one of you has seen a decent competitor...

Edit; Victorinox Swiss Army Metal Series...

We're all going to feel silly if there really is a "Steel Series" and none of us knew about it.

Actually I got such one !

I’ve been researching this myself the last few days. My EDC had been a SAK Spartan, but I’d really rather have a Philips head driver than a corkscrew, so I’ve been looking at the Evogrip 11, and possibly Adventurer if I decide to go with something larger (not likely, but not totally ruled out yet, either). In the process, I looked up alternatives and took a look at the Boker Tech Tools as well as anything else that turned up in searches. But every review and article I read always leaned me back toward a SAK, between the reasonable cost and proven longevity and durability. There may be better steels used by other brands, so I guess it depends on how much more you want to pay. All I know is I’ve had one for about 40 years, and aside from some surface scratches from sharing my pocket with spare change, it’s still as solid as new and can still get razor sharp with not a whole lot of regular attention.

The first page alone is filled with tons of SAK information + Multi tools galore in this sub forum I’ve linked for you below. Have a look over there too, as it’s filled with tons useful information and reference that may be of interest.

As to the steel, I really did not like the fact that most "Spydernox" blades are the 3cr13 Grasshopper blades instead of a real Spyderco steel, imagine a wharncliffe K390 blade on there, or a waved Dragonfly.
