Favorite Salsa?

All time favorite was a product that I first tried in the 80's, called Mexican Kitchen.

Mild or hot. First time had the hot, after eating 1/2 jar on Saturday, well, had to take Monday off work...couldn't sit down.

Haven't seen it on the market for years, sadly.

So now, normally Chi Chi's, occasionally Pace, more often Tostido's.

Of course, homemade always does the trick...

I dig Frontera salsas, from the kitchen of Rick Bayless. My wife doesn't.

Shockingly, my favorite all-time salsa is found at Meijer. It's their brand, and I think it's their restaurant style (not sure). It's got corn in it and a bit of a sweet taste. It's not at all hard to sit down with some chips and take down a jar..

Anyone know any good salsas that aren't chunky?
The Pace Original comes to mind. There are some pieces in it, but it's mostly sauce.

The Herdez Salsa Verde has no large chunks at all.

As a salsa head and living near the border my current fave is CHACHIES which is sold here at COSTCO. Yummie.

John Perry's salsa!

John and I went to the same "Intro" class in Old Washington and his salsa is unsurpassed! I have the recipe but I ain't giving it out! You will throw rocks at anything else!

Fresh Que Pasa brand is my favorite, it may just be a regional thing in south west BC though. Blows away any of the other brands available around here, they also sell a less fresh longer lasting salsa that is pretty good too. I highly recomend trying it if you ever come across the fresh stuff. I eat it with a spoon.

My favorite is one put out by Weis Markets. I've seen it sold under a different label by a local chain called Kleins. It's expensive, about 4 bucks a tub, but it is excellent. Fresh, its just cut up peppers and onions, etc, none of that paste, or sauce found in brand name salsas. Goes great on burgers, etc. Rich flavor. I think its called Field Fresh Salsa, or something similar.
