- Horsewright Clothing and Tack (Dave Ferry) is my favorite leather-maker by a long shot... I wear his leather every day.
- I also like D. Puckett leather sheath...have used it with several small fixed blades of 3-3.5 inch blade length.
- Both guys offer great sheaths for my preferred horizontal carry.

I personally prefer horizontal crossdraw carry. So do the vast majority of my customers. I might make 1 vertical sheath to every four to five hundred crossdraws of the various types I offer.
Doing the groundwork at one of our calf brandings. My personal knife is there on my belt. The one in the back pocket is a prototype castration knife that has worked out very well. I have carried horizontal crossdraw for probably 20 years now. It has really worked out well for me. Whether I'm horseback, or working the ground and bending over a lot, or carrying a pistol strong side it really works for me.
Kneeling down to castrate this calf, my horizontal sheath is not in the way:
