Favorite small knife

This Pena X Series right now is my favorite small knife. It’s small but can do big things with confidence and cuts effortlessly being so TBE. Absolutely love this knife!

What is a small knife?
Sub 3”? 2.5”?

How about this…my smallest favorite knife is unquestionably Spyderco’s Reinhold Rhino. 2.4” blade length, a hair under 6” oal. Awesome XHP with an upswept tip that makes the cutting edge longer than it measures. Mine took a little breaking in, but it was immediate love. It’s stayed in my nightstand since purchase while other blades come & go from knife locker storage.

The Kalisnakov mini is new to me, and it’s really cool too! 2.5” blade and 5.75” oal. Me thinks I’m going to be buying more of these for gifts.

My next smallest favorite knife is the Small Inkosi. 2.75” blade and 6.5” oal. It feels like it can take on anything. Is it really a small knife? I guess maybe.

The Chaparral was metioned above. 2.8” balde but with the choil, cutting edge is the same as the Rhino & it’s 6.4” oal. It’s a great knife, but I prefer the Rhino…and not just based on economy of scale. The Rhino is more interesting and way underrated.

These two fall into the "Sentimental" category...
They came from my Gramma Denman, and have been in the Family for over 100 years

What’s your favorite small knife? I’m currently looking at the Spyderco Dragonfly, WESN Microblade, Spyderco Grasshopper, Coldsteel micro recon 1.

Any other favorites? I like the idea of a metal handle which is why the Dragonfly and Grasshopper are on there. I have no practical purpose other than wanting something pretty light to throw in my pocket when I don’t want to carry (or can’t carry) my other knives like my PM2 or BM mini presidio 2.

Well, yeah, that Dragonfly in K390 is a terrific piece of kit. I mean, right out of the box
the edge is pretty lethal. It weights virtually nothing, is small and flat with a
good clip. Clearly another winner from the good folks in Golden.

Right now the smallest knife I own and regularly carry is my Spyderco Urban AEB-L Sprint

The Urban with its current N690 (also have a couple of the K390 sprint runs
w/grey scales) - they're my EDC, and have been for a couple of years.
Size is fine, they do whatever i reasonably have to do with them.
Beautifully made in Italy. Not flashy at all, and their slipjoint
mechanism makes it pretty legal carry in many places where
the addition of a real lock might not be viewed as favorably
by local LEO's. It freels great in my hand, left or right,
and heck - at around 60 bucks these days I think they're
a solid value as well. Feels good to have it in the pocket.
