We've done some threads on favorite large folders, so I figured it was about time to do one on your favorite small knives. Let's list the brand, blade length, and weight so that everyone gets a sense of the size. I'll start.

William Henry Black and Tan Lancet
2.5 inches
1 oz

Here are some of my favorite small knives that I own. All of which have 2 1/2 inch blades or less.

I really like my Victorinox Spartan, but my favorite small knife is this one....

It was my first knife and was given to me by an uncle.
I can't even tell who made it.

Chad Los Banos designed Subcom line! And it's not thin, but it is pretty small otherwise, the Byrd Firebyrd.

Spyerco Cricket, Byrd Finch, SOG Micron, A.G. Russell Bird & Trout, Queen D2 small serpentine jack, a little Schrade single-sided wharncliffe folder with a built-in clip (very similar to their newer "Simon") and of course, the Victorinox Swiss Army Classic! (I don't know the blade lengths and weights off-hand, and I'm not going to look them up!)

Stay sharp,

OK- how about:
1.) CRKT Lake/P.A.L.2 7/8 " AUS-8 - very cool and solid button lock
2.) Buck/Mayo TNT- 3 1/8" BOS S-30 ,framelock .(over 3" but too sweet to leave out)
3.) Lightfoot Suppressor, 3" BG-42 , excellently executed liner lock, absolutely elegant
4.) G&G Hawk MUDD, 3" S-30 ,unique and truly useful pocket clip, great button/slide lock, a big enough and gripy handle -you can hang onto this one and get some work done.
5.) Spyderco Lil'Temperance ,3" S-30 ,excellent compression lock and another knife that has big enough grips on it to be useful,a shame these have become collectible - these are great working tools. Only thing I don't like about these is the clip - but STR can take care of that.

i love the CRKT ichi, im usually a tacticool guy but i always carry my ichi whenever i go to church or to a formal business meeting. the ichi is classy and doesnt intimidate nonknife ppl. i have it in black and red with a black blade.

A humble Boker pen knife in carbon steel with delrin scales, model 8288. $30 out the door at a local smoke shop. I keep looking at prettier knives but keep putting the homely little pen in my pocket. I've grown fond of it. Go figure.

My very favorite small knife and one of only 2 sub 3" knives I will EDC is my Spyderco SE Spur.

weight 2.5 to 3.0 oz
2.6" blade in VG-10

2nd favorite is a left hand Kershaw PE mini-Task.

weight 2.0 to 2.5 oz
2.7" blade in ATS-34

Vic Classic keyring - the one knife I can honestly say I use daily.

Next is an NRA Outdoors Canoe (Benchmade brand). I didn't have a Canoe pattern, so I got this one; one of the handiest "small" (Peanut size) knives I've ever seen. Weighs about 1.5 oz.; Both blades are spear-points; main blade is 2"; closed is 2-11/16"; micarta handles.

thx - cpr

Kyocera ceramic gentlemen folder:

And also very nice, but I carry it less often, the Boker Subcom:

Eventually I expect to buy a Klotzli Oval gentlemen knife:

And finally, I now discover a fantastic new (released in november) small knife, the Boker Napoleon. I think I will succumb to the temptation one day:
