Favorite summer drink?

I totally agree with gin and tonic!
For a non-alcoholic beverage I love Guiness :D

Just for the record - My preference for years was Gin and Bitter Lemon, unfortunately I've not found bitter lemon in bars for years. Not even in groccery stores in many a year - I wonder if they even make it anymore - alas, I miss it:(

It was about 108 today, yes summer has arrived, and I usually go home and have a 64 oz. glass of iced tea. Booze is a waste since the first 20 oz. just spills back out of you and evaporates.

Non alch iced tea, unsweetened on a hot day, sweetened on a warm day

Alchoholic orange crush served to me by the cute seasonal waitress at harborside in ocean sh***y.

(BTW, I'm in one of their commercials, and all I got was a brew on the house! Better than nothing ;))

Ice cold beer rules in the hot Carolina summers!

But there's nothing wrong with a nice Tom Collins either.:)

Beer margaritas:

1 small can frozen minutemaid limeade mix.
4 light beers (corona lights)
12 ounces tequila

Make the limeade, substituting beer for water. Add tequila. Serve in large glasses over ice. Tell people it's your secret margarita recipe. Don't mention the beer until they've had a few sips - most people can't tell that it's beer. Tastes reeeeaal good when standing around a hot grill.

Mojitos (at least it's my take on what a mojito should taste like):

Fill martini shaker half full of fresh spearmint.
Add 4 tablespoons granulated sugar.
Use wooden mixing spoon to crush sugar and mint together.
Add juice of 4 or 5 limes.
Add ice and 12 ounces of white or light rum.
Shake shake shake.
Mix 50/50 with sparkling water over ice.

My personal favorite summer drink: drinking big cans of ice cold beer while poking the campfire with a stick. Doesn't really matter what kind of beer - as long as it's in one of those fat 24 oz cans. Labatt's is probably my favorite.

I love a cold beer after work in the summer. If I'm out with the wife though, nothing can beat a good, cold blush. It's the perfect cool off drink, IMO. I've never had a gin and tonic with lime...sounds kinda like a gimlet. Anywho, what's with all the weirdos and weissbier? That stuff is god-awful! :D

Looking at the drinks preference it seems we have quiet a few up market chaps in BF.
G & T old chap or perhaps a glass of Pimms old bean.
I thought this was Grizzily Adams meets Rambo country.

If non-alcoholic, it's water first, homemade lemonade second!
For alcoholic, it's either one of the awesome single malt scotches, or, a frozen margherita.

Cheers!

AJ
