Favorite tip down sub $100 folder?

I've looked at the blur, and even though it seems to be a great deal, there is something about it that I can't describe that doesn't appeal to me tons. Maybe I'll get over that someday though.
You're missing out. If you could only have one folder for the rest of your life, it should be a Blur! You can pick up a blem on the cheap from Kershaw Guy to try out.

First thing that came to mind when I saw this thread was the Kershaw Speedform 2. Elmax, treated well, under $100, reversible clip, really smooth action. Only thing I would suggest is replacing the thumb stud with a screw on version, because the factory stud is a little sharp.

Are those still available?

Another awesome model to consider is the Buck 722 spitfire... copper & clad and also Skblades both have upgraded versions available for <$100

If you are considering a really tough knife you may want to consider the Buck/Tops CSAR-T.

What about the Utilitac series from Ontario Knife Co.? They're tip down and they don't cost much.

Endura or Delica flat ground. Excellent lightweight EDC choices under $100

I forgot two of my favorite tip down folders, somehow. Mcusta Katana and Mcusta Tsuchi small. Pretty, functional, and pretty. Did I mention they are gorgeous?

I would suggest a kershaw skyline or a rat 2 for a little smaller knife. Spyderco tenacious or the kershaw blur also come to mind. If you wanted a little smaller maybe the kershaw cryo. The blur and cryo are assisted while the others are manual. I'm sure there are dozens of other options these are the ones that came to mind first

The lionsteel opera has always served me well, theyre not too fancy but still nicer than a lot of others in that price range, and you can find them for $60 bucks on ebay a lot of the time. Just be aware that only the g10 version has a clip, the wood ones come with a leather slip

Another tip down knife I own and love.
Mcusta small Nami

It's right at around $100, a little heavier because it's steel not Ti/g10/cf/etc... Has a nice "different" classy look to it, probably won't scare too many folks in an office setting being more "pocket jewelry" style, not "tactical" at all..
Now that mine is broken in, it flies open like it's assisted! Great little shiny knife.

Didn't see the Kershaw Cryo or Cryo II mentioned...unless you are avoiding AO or anything made in China. They are Hinderer designs (think ZT0560 series without the high end steels) and come with 4 position deep clips for any carry config you want...well under $100...closer to $30. Super solid knife, everything lines up well with smooth operation. The only thing I really don't like about them is the deep clip position when configured for tip up carry. For some reason they are set in a lower position than the tip down configuration and don't sit quite as deep in the pocket. But that won't be an issue for you. IMG-1705.JPG IMG-1703.JPG
