What's makes your ideal EDC, and why? Mine was the GEC STR-EK with the sheepsfoot blade for ease of sharpening, tough micarta handles, handy screwdriver, and a lanyard hole for helping to fish it out of your pocket. Wish I'd have never sold it so here's a pic from GEC.

If forced to choose one pocketknife I would want a roughly 3-1/2" Stockman such as a Case 18 frame or Schrade 897UH. OH

My most commonly carried is the 2012 forum knife, the GEC saddle trapper. A full sized clip and wharncliffe blade is hard to beat, and it just fits perfectly in my hand.

I like my EDC like I like my eating and exercise habits: Straight edge, utilitarian, functional, but thoroughly enjoyable:

I find straight edges are ideal for about 2/3 of my cutting tasks. The other third is how I justify carrying more than one knife :)

my normal every day EDC is a Buck. 301 or 371, 389 Canoe, a scout/camp knife, and a Buck 110.
Recently a brown jigged bone 371 has found favor over the 301 (black handle) and 371 (black and blue G10)
I like the selection of blades this gives me for different tasks.

I have only recently been getting into traditionals, so I have not tried out all of the patterns that I would like, but recently I have really liked carrying a 4" Stockman pattern. This Old Timer 8OT was been a nice one. I received it at no cost because it was rusted shut. After a through cleaning and some light use on the belt sander, it is solid as new. Also just picked up a Craftsman Stockman 4" pattern at the flea market this weekend, but forgot to get a pic of it. I usually like less blades, but the size make each blade useful.

I am sure this will change once I get a feel of more patterns, but as of now, this one sees the most pocket time.

Just finished working on this little Klein, and am carrying it to try it out. I am liking it mostly because of the new handles. My way of testing out the blade shape and getting experience with working on traditionals at the same time.

A 3¾ to 4 inch stockman is about perfect for me, with 3 different sized, shaped and purposed blades. This one is in my pocket the last few days.

Gosh it would have to my my 77 Barlow. I love my Case large Stockman also, but the 77 Barlow has become my go-to.

I change my EDC from time to time but for a while the Med. Case Jackknife in this older picture has been getting the most pocket time. I just plain like (southern talk) a Jackknife.

This is a tough question for me. I really like so many knives and am likely to carry any of those I have, on any given day. That being said, this small Rounder from Jerry Halfrich should by rights be the only knife I carry. The modified Wharncliffe blade, to me, is the most versatile blade shape going. It's got enough belly to slice stuff handily. It's got a straight enough edge to deal with the myriad tasks that require that type of blade. It's got a very sharp point that can deal with the occasional splinter etc.

I'm still likely to have something else in my pocket tomorrow but .. If I had any sense at all I'd just carry this one.

Im trying to decide now exactly how I will have TAD make me a two blade and which blades I want, but I think I just found my second blade (to a clip point main). I really like that.

It's no where near as nice as all these fine blades but I
Carry this ol' boy ALOT. You can't tell it's in your pocket.

My favorite edc traditional has to be either of these two 85's. There is something I just love about a good jack knife and it's a rare day that I go without one of these in my pocket.

My favorite EDC changes frequently. If it's in my pocket, then at least for that day, it is my favorite.

In general I like a knife that has a sheepsfoot blade plus either a clip or a zulu spear. If it has a third blade, it should be a pen, but a spey will do.

This S&M stag sowbelly rides in my pocket 9 days out of 10. It is my fav EDC. I like the feel of stag in my hand, and I like 3 different blade shapes, but all full size main blade sized.

My favorite edc is my 2015 Bladeforums knife by Canal Street. In my watch pocket every day since it came.
