Title says it all, what is your favorite type of (fixed blade) knife, and why?

Trench/knuckle, followed by heavy weight slasher/chopper. Trench because I like the handle, and how secure my hand is. Also they look ****ing sweet. Slasher/chopper because I use them a fair bit, and they're very useful. KABAR Swabbie is my current favorite.

Its a real toss up between Bushcrafting or Hunting...

Id have to go with Hunting because if I did have to stab something/someone I want penetration!

Knecker because I'm able to have it on me at all times And it is able to do 98.5% of what I need a knife to do.

:)

Toss up for me between Tactical and Bushcraft. I like tactical because I don't CCW my handgun, so I tend to CCW a knife instead. But Bushcraft because I spend time in the woods is also an important one to me.

I like the style of Tactical more though to be honest.

I'm hoping to bring out more of the tactical style knives, probably in smaller EDC sizes, so they can be carried easily and not left sitting at home.

EDC.

Anything for woods specific usage would come by way of a custom made piece.

Also keep in mind that I Love blades that aren't seen often, things like the Personal Utility blade/handle ratio Really piqued my interest, the Becker bk15 trailing point is a favorite. I guess its just that regardless of how functional a spear or clip point is, the blade shape on an Insingo CRK is just more eye catching.

Mine would have to be edc, just because they're easy to carry and they see a lot of use. Second for me hunting knives, don't really do bushcraft like stuff but certainly try to hunt every chance I get.

i said edc and bushcrafting, there the two i have most use for (although at his not I'm long past "needing" a knife :)) but they are still the ones i'm looking at most ften

EDC. I've said it a lot but I think you need a "signature" knife.

Maybe I should have a contest to choose a signature knife. It could be any model I've ever offered (except the Kephart). That would give people a chance to look back through the forum and check out early models to choose from. Then after a vote, I could offer a chance to buy one at a special price. Sound like a good idea?

Sounds like a great idea. My life is based around hunting and fishing. My knives have to be good for one or both of those activities.

My personal favs are Stiletto/Dagger knives, but if I was a knife maker creating a signature knife, I would go with some type of EDC...A knife that even if its not everyone's favorite, is liked and usable by all

That sounds like a great idea, John.

I regularly EDC hunting knives, its the environment I live in and the tool I use the most.
