Favorite Vic SAK

Rambler and Pioneer Settler. I'm never willingly without the former on my keychain and the latter has displaced most of my other slipjoints for EDC duty.

I always carry a Vic in my left (off hand) pocket, and 90% or more of the time it's the Explorer. I also have a green Classic on my keyring, and since my keys go everywhere with me, so does the knife.

love my vic spartan, had it since i was ten and it's what really got me into knives. Also love my vic soldier for camping trips, and i've been meaning to pic up an alox electrician for ages and just haven't had the chance.

I like to think it is the alox Pioneer Harvester - but I carry a Huntsman much more than any of the others I have

I have lots of SAKs, mainly colored alox. I have a Cadet that is modified with an added saw blade, but I always have my little Companion on my key chain and use it daily.
*snip pic*

How in the world did you do that?

My favorite is hands down the Alox Cadet. I'd love to pick up an Alox Farmer to give it some competition, but there's really nothing I don't like about my Cadets. My green one with the green and black lanyard gets the most carry.

No love for the climber? I've sure been loving my 125th anniversary vic climber. Any really hard use tasks will get delegated to my other knives on my person, but this little guy can do anything.

I like the alox series most. There's a Farmer in my left front pocket, last week I carried a red Pioneer. And I can't get the Midnight Manager off the keyring.

I like it!

No more than you really need, any less and you'd be missing out on useful stuff. I like the file - you never know when you will need to grind a little wood/plastic/metal for whatever reason. Adding the saw makes it great for lots of stuff where a saw is handy (bushcraft or whatever).

the mini champ cheers me up!
whilst the swiss champ keeps me wondering...
big or small, 'em saks does it all.
mutually admired, equally loved!

either 84mm tinker small or sportsman would always be in my jeans pocket...

classic alox is always on my wallet... my most treasured small knife.

93mm alox soldier and farmer are also my favorite since they're beautifully build and proven solid...

SAKs are great!

Victorinox Explorer Plus is how I ride. The only "improvement" would be the addition of a wood saw. It has a phillips that folds out 180 degrees as God intended, and the tweezer and magnifier get a good deal of use with splinters. Having an emergency pen is a bonus.

When I want something smaller, I go with the Manager II.

Always have a Classic or Rambler on my keychain (I tend to give these away to friends if they find them intriguing), but if I carry a larger SAK it always ends up being the Compact. It really has the most bang for the size IMO; it disappears in my pocket unlike some of my thicker SAKs.

Huntsman for me. Every time one of those "If you could have only one knife... " threads comes up, that's usually my answer. If size & weight isn't a concern, I'll carry my One-Hand Trekker.

And, I always have my Classic on my keychain.

. . . the whole knife has a little more play between tools over other Tinkers now.

You can gently pop the scales off, set the knife on a soild surface, and gently tap the rivets in the center with a small punch & hammer. (Don't hit the flange that holds the scale on.) It should tighten it up.

For me it's the SAK Mechanic. Prefer the pliers to a saw (never found I used the saw on my other SAKs).

For me, it's gotta be the Mauser model, discontinued, I believe. Green handle with the Mauser logo, 2 cutting blade(one clip and one spearpoint), a wickedly sharp saw blade, bottle opener/can opener with screwdriver built in. Oh yeah, and all the blades are larger than normal, too. ;) :)
