My bottle of "medicine" just went dry (trying to fend off the flue) and need to make another trip to the local liquor store. Decided to try something a little different this time around. Please note, I drink most of my liquor staight... one or two shots before bedtime (or three... or four... or half the bottle...)

Wild Turkey 101 is an all time favorite
Jim Bean "Black" - tried once and liked
Dewars- okay, not my favorite
Jack Daniels- used to be favorite... okay for mixing with coke.

Suggestions?

If I'm home or have a choice it's Maker's Mark on ice, sometimes with water or ginger ale. Wild Turkey also very good especially the Rare Breed and Russell's Reserve.
For a home remedy I recommend a drink made of chamomile tea, lemon juice, honey, and bourbon of choice.

Try Knob Creek 100 Proof. The best stuff there is to me.
regards and enjoy,

Whiskey? I'll take a Jameson. I really don't care for scotch, and I'll take my bourbon in knob creek.

Hands down Elijia Craig 18 year.

Seriously. If you like bourbon there is no match.

But if $45 or so is too much, as it usually is for me, I like Knob Creek.

just picked up a 12yr macallan on friday, so far I'm liking it better than the 12yr glen livet I've been working on.

My favorite is anything that is F-R-E-E. :)

Jameson, hands down. It comes in really cheapo looking oplastic bottles (smaller version) which look more like toilet cleaner tahn whiskey but it's the best whiskey i ever drank and probably the only one i can still stomach in reasonable quantities.

Drink this straight. Mix it with anything and I will find out. You wouldn't want that...

I used to love Glenmorangie Scotch. But I gave up drinking many years ago...it seems I was turning part fish. No complaints, I had my share, plus a few others shares as well. :D

Blanton's for sippin', too expensive to drink. ;)

Knob creek for drinkin' smooth as can be. :D

When I do have a glass for sippin I pour The Macallan 12 year old, or older if I can afford it at the time.:)

Macallan 12 or 18 yr old. I'd really like to try the Macallan 25 year, but at $300/bottle, that will have to wait for now. Other favorites include Oban, Glenlivet.

JW Black for company, Makers Mark for friends, Jameson for family, The Glenlivet is for Jimmy.

Why in the world did JD change from 86 to 80 proof? I haven't tried the new mix yet but why ruin a tradition?

Apparently JD performed some surveys that reported that 86 proof was too strong and interfered with the taste (I wonder who these folk were?)......if whiskey is too strong at 86 proof I suggest that they switch to drinking wine coolers, or perhaps zima...

Favorite bourbons: Knob Creek, Makers Mark, Woodford Reserve

Favorite scotch: Glenmorangie 18

Jameson for everyday drinking.
Seagrams VO for mixing.
Glenlivet 12 year old for special occasions.
