This one by Ken Erickson.

Backstory: Ken and I were on the phone B.S.'ing as we would do from time to time and he was lamenting that he didn't know what to make next. I pulled out my Remington catalog and found a picture of a button lock whittler that IMHO would keep any knife maker up nights trying to build. I sent him the image from the catalog and told him, "Here, see if you can build one of these" and promptly forgot about my having thrown down the gauntlet.

At the next Blade Show, Ken told me to meet him at his room as he had something to show me. Needless to say, my jaw dropped when he showed me this...(built entirely without any blueprint or "go by"...but his native genius to call upon).

that's a excellent piece

I agree with John jmh33 jmh33 but...
Right now, today, this one. I like the size, shape, the fact it has two blades and the jigging on the covers.

I had some very special knives and an equal number that had a special meaning to me. Unfortunately I needed to sell them so there are only a few now. One is a SAK that my youngest son bought for me while spending a semester in Italy while attending the University of Michigan. Second is this aluminum Laguiole that is one of my all time favorites aesthetically and third is a recent pickup. This Moki Silver Feather is simply one of the finest knives I’ve ever handled.IMG_5640~2.jpegIMG_0073.jpeg20260527-110255934.jpeg

Can you pick 1?

My favorite pattern is the stock/cattle knife with clip, sheepfoot and spey blade. As I'm a big guy with big hands my favorite size pocket knife is a 4 incher.
My favorite handle material is gnarly, bark rams' horn. My favorite football player was the great Jim Brown, #32. So this is a no-brainer for me.
Tidioute Cuban Stockman #538307 in bark ram's horn and 1095 carbon steel, serial number 32 of 46.

This 1989 Buck 305 in Sambar Stag is one of my favorites.

but the 305 as a whole is my favorite

A more recently found favorite is this old Schrade shadow pen

This 1985 Camillus is one of my first favorites...a NOS eBay purchase that was dirt cheap.

My favorite Case 08 half whittler

And my Case 032 Texas Jack

There is no one favorite.

My favorite is this one from the 2018 bf knife a Buck 301 two blade stockman. View attachment 3195650
I forgot to mention the reason it’s my very favorite. That is because I got to vote on how it was designed. The only thing different than my choices was I chose a three blade design instead of the two blade that it ended up being. But I still like it a lot and got a second one just because. 😆

What's your favorite folder in your collection and why?
I cannot answer.
To me, that's the same as asking: "Which of your kids is your favorite?" 🤔

All my knives have features I like and dislike. (same for most "people" i have met in "real life"... nothing is "perfect" ... including i ... obviousy.)
The specialty knives (e.g. marlin spike, hawk bill/pruner, and SAK's/Scout/Camp knives) have blades and or tools that are needed for specific tasks ... Admittedly, for some tasks there is a low probability of my doing them again post retirement, but I keep the knives ... "just in case".

All 3 of them was kind of like an introduction into how good GEC Knives are .

Seeing a trend of multiple knives in posts, do your best to really present the 1 piece in your collection that really ticks all the boxes for you. I'm building slippies and really enjoy seeing what there absolute favorite is for whatever reason, weight?, overall size?, blade size?, blade width?, bolsters or no bolsters?, single or multi blade? ..... etc. What is your 1 favorite, if all others must be sold and you can only keep 1, which would it be. Thanks for playing along.
