favourite cheap slipjoint

I'm an Imperial Frontier (w/Powder Horn) junkie. They can still be had for $10 to $30 in great condition. They are clad in Delrin with high carbon blades and a F&F on par with the Schrade Old Timers, IMO.

They are fun to hunt for as they aren't as common as the OT's.

They're a great, US made, user quality knife that seems to stay just below the radar of most which keeps the prices "cheap".

Buck 309, or any of the 300's from them.

Their imported Canoe with the bone handle is also nice.

It depends on how cheap you want to go.

Rough Rider genuine burnt stag sowbelly, $21.

Kissing Crane ram's horn copperhead, $17.

All three of these 3-3/4" knives are imports and have equivalent fit and finish to a $40 Case. Quite pocket worthy.

I carried a Boker pen in carbon and delrin for over a year. I was inspired by Jackknife's peanut challenge. I got it for $28, with tax, from a local mom and pop smoke shop.

I was skeptical at first but after putting this knife through the paces on my farm I can give it a big

Rough Rider Congress - $9.99 (Picture Before Use/Abuse)

Not even a close contest. The Victorinox Farmer wins in my book. Runners up are the US-made Schrade Old Timer 80T and the Wenger Standard Issue.

Finding an unused US-made 80T won't be less than $30.00 anymore, but still what I'd consider to be cheap. I bought one online last month for $42.00, mint in box.

Steel Warrior. Like others I was skeptical at first, but purchased it anyway. What I got is well done slipjoint. I've carried it for a couple months, off and on, but mostly on, and it has done everything I've needed it to do and requires no more sharpening than I shapen my Case's. Well pleased with the "cheap" purchase. Cigar Whittler w/locking blade= $16.99 at store, but at online shop= $9.99

Yep. The SW slippies are good values.

Victorinox Explorer Plus. I think almost all of my Vics including a couple of Swisschamps have been bought in new condition off Ebay for under $30.

Queen Country Cousin with D2 steel for <$25. Since I seem to be digging on Sodbusters these days this is a great knife with very good steel.

RR Canoe.
I've it and I love it. I think that at now you cannot beat that knife for price and quality.

I also bought one elefant toenail and two marlinspike.
All great deals. My fav are marlinspike indeed, because has the lock on the spike...and it's perfect. No rubs, decent 440 steel. Not the quality of GEC, Case, Queen and so forth but they worth double or triple the price i've paid for.
