lol i might be the cheapest guy in this forum: i have a 23 cm ugly thing made from an old lawnmower blade that i use to chop stuff when camping (its a little handier and lighter in the canoe than an axe) and a 10 cm Frosts carbon blade does everything else with no problems.
Im not aware what particular feature an hunting knife should have different than an outdoor good knife (not an hunter, if my knife goes on an animal while i camp its fish, otherwise it probably would be a situation where everything is good or run as fast as you can). Aelius: make a google search in the bladeforum domain only, for some reasons i can search only one word with the forum search, for mora kives, puukko, frosts, eriksson (or erikson) and youll find so much stuff to fill a day of reading and it will convert you to swedish (and neighbours) blades, or at least it will make you try one (inexpensive and i never heard anyone saying they threw away the money on them.
The Brusletto Fjord would look great for the kayak but at Ragnar's price its too much for something i could lose in the water at any time, lanyard or not. So unless i make it by myself....
