Favourite Places!

My personal playground is 140 square km of prime wilderness about 1.5 hours from home.

The lowlands are covered by hardwood and bamboo tropical forest. The middle elevation is scrub land and the whole thing is bordered by 6000 foot mountains.

The best part is that I own it... OK I let other people live there and drive on the roads and mine stuff... but I own it.

Casares that photo has just taken me back,it looks just like where I used to walk before I emigrated from the UK to Canada!Where exactly in the UK is it?
 
Good pic Pit man. What is that ferocious creature that looks like it just climbed out of the pit? Nice dog you have there too.
 
First other person from Southern Vancouver Island I've seen on here. Just moved to Victoria last year myself. Strathcona has some beautiful spots but for my money you can't beat clayoquat sound(unless you leave the island and head up to the charolettes).
 
I have been all over this country and Victoria was my favourite city. Never made it out to the countryside, unfortunatley, but I will be checking out some of the forest there someday.
Banff and Lake Louise are also beautiful.
