I have a question for all that have a FBM LE or have had a chance to use one. I just ordered one from Garth late this afternoon. I wanted to get it with the standard snakeskin micarta figuring it would be an added charge. He told me that Jerry said because they are LE's they will only be available with the magnum handles. Anyway, I have big hands, but short fingers and am wondering how the grips feel and are to work with. I have a HOGFSH and the handles on that are not too comfortable so haven't done anything with it yet (it's just sitting in the safe) and am considering having it rehandled. Does anyone know if those are magnum handles? If so it'll give me an idea how the FBM LE will feel. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

if the hogfsh is the le, i believe they also have the magnums. otherwise i think they were available either way.

easy way to tell, the magnums have a very distinct swell in the palm.

My HOGFSH has standard snakeskin. I believe some of them have the mags, however. If they're mags, you should know it. There's a discernible swell in the middle of the handle.

Yes there is a swell in the middle of the handle. I got the HOGFSH out of the safe, slid it out of the Busse factory sheath and there they were. It'd been awhile since I saw it so I had forgotten why it was uncomfortable in my hands. I guess I'll wait and see. I'm thinking of calling back to verify the color. I have seen pics here of FBMLE that look different than the color on the Busse website. Anyone here know if there are different colors available?

The LE is magnum tiger hide and satin only.

the tiger hide scales are like the snakeskin in that different batches have different looks. color, pattern variation, light/dark, can vary greatly. i have snakeskins on one of mine that look like tiger hide, until they are oiled, then the colors show.

That explains why different pics of FBMLE's appear to be different in color. Thank you guys for enlightening this piglet who has much to learn!

All Fusion handles have palm swells, the magnums are just more prominent. This photo shows two HOFSH models, one of which is an LE with Tiger Hide Magnums, the other has Black Paper Standards:
