FBM Make-Over

That looks great! Mark will love the job you did:thumbup:

Mark- Man I can't believe you shot that thing...was it a solid tip LR? If so it held up very well to be hit near the edge like that.

Bead blasting is a good idea but I do not have the tools for that. Not yet. ;)

I used the 3M scotch-brite drill attachments. I'll take some pics of them after work today.

I really like the CBTs myself as I am more about performance than looks. If the CBTs are supposed to increase cutting/slicing ability by reducing surface area friction, and adds lateral strength then I'd keep it. But that's up to Mark on this baby.

Still some more work with the scotch-brite later today and then to get a mean edge on this baby. ;)

soft point. from about 10 yards from a ruger mark II.

Dang. Now someone's going to have to up the ante and shoot an FBM with a .30 caliber. Before you know it, folks will be using .50 caliber rifles at close range. Where will the insanity end?

Hog brother, my many decades of existence have taught me at least one thing: the insanity never ends! :)

More time on the scotch-brite.

The edge goes on tonight. ;) This little project is just what the Dr. Ordered.

I tested the chopping ability of this knife being completely dull. We are talking butter knife here. And it sinks in deep to the stumps I have. I can't wait to test it once it is sharpened. :)

Alrighty, first of all, YTF would anyone shoot a blade, even with a .22? I have been hit with richocets and it smarts. The blade could have splintered and caused more shrapnel. Anywho, this dimenstrates the toughness of INFI.

Second, why strip a muddy? I could see stripping a black crinckle coat.

The repairs turned out great!
Nice job in restoring this baby.

I was able to fix the dent a bit. Still a slight indentation. It may be even less noticeable after the edge restoration. We'll see tonight after the kiddies are asleep. :)

It does look incredible, this has me thinking about cleaning up my CGFBM. Great work Tyrkon!

Well she is all crazy sharp and ready to go. The area where said bullet impacted it has a little awkward edge to it due to the convex/concave nature of each side. But that should diminish over time and more sharpenings.

You guys knew this was coming. But it's one of my sharp tests. ;)

She's all ready to go home now. I'm going to miss this one. (tear in eye). :)

D@MN Fine job restoring that baby...

OK, I'm just curious if you're concerned about ricochets when shooting at your knife? I've had ricochets burn me and scare the cr@p out of me when shooting at soft targets... can't imagine I'd ever intentionally shoot a busse. But of course I may change my mind sometime... :D

I really wish my friend had a computer and internet access. He doesn't believe me when I tell him stuff like this. He's a huge cold steel fan. He did buy an Ontario TAK a couple of weeks ago and I did manage to get him a Bandicoot directly from Eric and he liked my Ratmandu, but I haven't gotten him to shell out for a Busse, yet. I'm wondering how many Busse's it'd take to make a bullet proof vest, could it be done for under $2K and 100lbs? My mother-in-law can sew anything, I may be onto something here:D

P.S. God I love a Busse!
