Any of you HOG's or Piglet's know what a set of FBM Proto's is worth????
By set I mean one of each colored handles (red/black, green/black, blue/black).

Thanks,
piglet

Based on what I have seen people pay for them I would say A WHOLE LOT :D

Considering that not many of them are floating around...people are willing to pay a premium for one of those beautiful blades. I am guessing approximately1200 each????

Purchased from Buse at the time they were available, I believe they would have run about $2100 for all three. I guess what they go for now is what the buyer and seller can agree to, but at least that is a starting point.

That's what PG just sold his Blue/Black handled one for.
I was wondering if they would be worth more as a set than individually????

I thought they were $797 each when new????
$2400 for the set.

$2,391 for the set new... (Before taxes or shipping, depending on the Creek or Ganza.)

Now, they seem to be going for around $1200 each but, with only ~15 or so out there and only a couple being sold openly to gauge the price, I guess it's whatever price is worked out between buyer and seller.

Regarding sets, it seems like Busse sets usually sell cheaper than if the blades are sold individually. I would love to see examples to the contrary, but it seems collecting a "set" is a pleasure for the individual collector but holds no fiscal value for determining worth for resale.

There would be less people in the market for the whole set because of price.
I bet they would go better broken up!

Ok, lets make this even more interesting.

What do you guys think an original SH-1 is worth???

I'LL TAKE IT! :D :D ;)

No really... I would say as a set, they would go for a bit of a premium. Only a collector would be after the set versus a single, so... having a complete set would be more IMHO. Typically, sets are a bit cheaper because you don't have to pay all the individual shipping charges...and most of the recent sets were easier to come by models. I’d have to go back an look for the set of BARFs that sold as a set and see how that one went.

In this case, being as rare as these are, building a complete set one at a time would be a challenge, and only getting more difficult as time passes… not to mention having no real certainty that you would be able to complete the set. If you think about it, they’re worth (to some) $1200 each right now… what will they run 6 months or a year from now if you bought piece by piece???

So… would the ability to buy a complete set now, all in one shot bring a premium? I think so.

.

Well it wouldn't be a set without one of these.;)

they are worth what someone is willing to pay. In this case $1200.

Are they worth it to me. No. Would I buy one, no. It is basically a longer FSH. I have no interest in it. But if I were an FSH collector I would want all three
:D

They were selling for $800+/- a couple of years ago and the Holy Terror to go with it was about $500 as I recall. Good luck finding either right now, especially the Holy Terror.

This is what I've seen as well. Sets don't seem to go for a premium, and it is a much smaller market than for the blades individually.

Yep, to me they are basically FSHs on steroids. If I was a FSH fanatic then these are must haves.

Edited because I just realized that I sprinkled some water onto your camp fire ;) My Bad!

Honestly? I think we're starting at $3K. But that's just me...:D

Price is based on perceived value ... and rarity is a key element.

Might not find a lot of customers for this, though.

I bet Jaxx would know. ;)

Well... Don't call ME an expert on the value or anything, BUT... Not many have been sold openly on the Exchange... Only one, I think? ...Sold at $1200 for a blue handled proto but was originally listed for $1700 or over. Personally, and since I'm not looking to sell ANY (Ok, stop typing those PM's!), I would expect to see about $3300-$3600 for the set at this time. Where would I start the price for the set? Higher... As if you were to see my set for sale:
1. I'd be hating to have to part with them, and
2. I would have a dire need for the money.

Me, I would try to sell the set as a set... But would probably have to break 'em up for better results.

JMHO
