I recently traded into a FBMLE. Been wanting one ever since handling Dunner's :) I liked it as it was but having held the Proto Bowie at Blade West I knew I'd like the handles better with a little filing. Well I got to working on the handles and they fit my mit perfect now. Also while I was in the shop I decided to give the beast a flase edge. The handles have an almost burnt look to the colors. Kinda cool to my eyes. Almost an earthy camo! I thinned out the edge just a tad from the factory angles. Now I just need to decide on a sheath. Can't decide on leather or kydex but I need to decide soon so this beasty can make the trip out into the woods :D

Sweet knife, sweet mods Bill! Congrats on finally obtaining your FBMLE!!!:D

Nice work on that one, Bill! Love the handles...

A girl needs a knife...

How about a close up of the handles ? Various angles and both sides would be appreciated, also.

Looks good, tho.

Sweet...very close to the same mods I ask Garth to do to my FBMLE that is at the shop.

excellent work. Man, I would love to see some close ups of the swedge and handle. I have been wanting to have some work done on mine as well.

I've got to get to work on sanding some of these grips down. That looks awesome!

More Pic Please!

Nice mods Bill. I imagine the swedge turned out nicely. I seen a couple of knives you've done up close!;)

Here's a few more pics. These will have to do till the sun is out again :)
