Feather blades....

I'm just glad we have (still) a decent choice of DE blades because experiences vary so much. As I've written before, Feather is THE best blade for me by a long chalk. I don't think my prep is any better than the next man's, nor my technique, it's simply that Feathers cut my type of beard far more effectively and without nicks than any other blade. As for those Crystals....ghastly! Face looked like it had been victim of an acid attack after using them-several occasions too. I've no doubt they work well on other people .

I'm a Super Iridium blade user myself, but I can recommend the next best thing (IMHO): See if you can get a hold of some Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow packaging blades. These seems to be a good compromise between sharp, smooth, and longevity.

I like the Feathers, but seldom use them since I prefer a smooth ride to sheer sharpness.

Feathers as I've written endlessly..impress me a lot, suits my beard anyhow.

But, I WANT TO TAKE IT FURTHER:D I've heard that Open Comb razors deliver an ultra close shave, I'd like to try this with a Feather:thumbup:

Got any candidate for an ultra aggressive razor please?

Well, there's the Merkur 11c, which is an open comb of repute which you may find interesting. Also, for non-comb aggressiveness, you can always search for an old Gillette slim adjustable or fat boy and dial it up to 9. I've heard that the old Gillette red tip superspeeds (non adjustable) are somewhat aggressive, too.

Just tried a feather again today. It was the first time I've used a feather and not cut myself. Maybe my technique is improving. Pretty darn good shave.
