Hi everyone!

Here is a custom order I just finished for a fellow forumite. The blade is forged from 1080 and 15N20 in "W" Feather Pattern Damascus. The handle is made from premium blue/green Mammoth Ivory. The fittings are of Explosion Pattern Damascus. The spacer and pommel have square grooves in them (something I have not done before. I like them a lot). This is the first damascus frame handled knife I've made that doesn't have file-worked spacers. I think it looks clean IMHO. I also made the sheath and it has an alligator insert. This was the first time that I've made "W" Feather Damascus this long, being 9" and the previous longest was 7", so I am very happy with that. The choil runs a little into the ricasso to give it a little detail you could miss if you weren't looking closely at it. This was also the first time I've made a long sweeping curved clip like this. The Ivory looks a little darker in the picture than in person. The overall length is 14" long.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking!

I would also like to thank my brother, Caleb for the great picture.

Extremely nice. I love the ivory also. Sheaths are looking way cleaner each time!

Great looking Damascus.
Love that long clip.
Smoking Ivory.

I think this is my favorite to date.

You certainly have been given a talent, keep up the good work.
Its a pleasure to see your progress with each new knife.

Another exceptional knife Kyle. That feather damascus looks great as does the sheath.

Pleasure seeing it.

Hi Kyle,

I also enjoy the knife even (because?) of the lack of filework. It's so very rich in steel that the appointments are fulfilling enough. I agree. As someone else recently stated, strip out all the embellishments to see if a knife has bare style. In this case, even with all that's going on, I think so.

Caleb has his set of talents also. I enjoy his work, too. :)

Another beauty Kyle and the gator inlayed sheath really adds to the package. Very nice.

A most elegant blade profile and guard, and spectacular damascus, Kyle. Nice touch on the ricasso, also.

I have to say that this piece shows a remarkable ability in design.

great lines, clean smooth transitions, everything seems to fit together as a cohesive whole.

very nicely done sir

That's just flat-out gorgeous. I'm not really missing the filework. Pat on the back for Caleb as well - excellent pic.

really appreciate the extra trouble to post the other pictures, it's nice to see the knife's insides and how it went together:thumbup:

Kyle that's gorgeous. My favorite part is the guard, second favorite is the long clip, both are very elegant and well done.

Two of the things I like about Kyle is that practically every knife he creates has at least one design and/or construction element that's new to him and there's usually at least one design and/or construction element that he has improved upon.

I love this blade/clip profile, the 9"/5" blade to handle ratio always works, the centerline in his feather pattern is very straight from racasso to tip (one area where many feather patterns fall short, especially on longer blades) and his handles are improving with every knife.

The absence of filed liners is a nice change.

Not crazy about the choil/racasso treatment, but it's execution is impressive.

Kyle's sheaths show the same continuous improvement as his knives. He's got a pretty cool sheath coming up next, can't wait to see it.

Nice work Kyle.
