I was lucky enough to be the first WIP over at the Custom Knife Collectors Association forum. Cant believe nobody has jumped on that opportunity before now.
Please check it out. Its one of the best wips I've ever done and its not complete yet.
On another note, that forum is full of collectors so why dont you register and participate? Its not only good for the knife community but also its a good business approach to be a known maker.

Breathtaking and inspirational as always. That winding feather pattern is incredible! The way you put your handles together is fascinating to me.

Taking your setback and making it into something even more awesome than the awesomeness you were already working on is amazing! That winding feather pattern is out of control.

Wow, I spent over an hour going through the WIP thread and it is really was a great way to spend an hour and a bit.

Well I just bookmarked the tread for further viewing and my first comment is HOLY SH:eek:T....... that is freakin awsome can't wait for the finished view with scales. Although I don't know if I can stand a completed view or not.

Reading that makes me want to quit, and I haven't even gotten started yet!

That is simply AWESOME! Well done.

Hi Steve,
Dont quit. Please do learn what you need from mine or any other instructional WIP on here. I've been on this Bladeforums for over 10 years now and just in the last few years or so I've noticed the newer makers knives are great in comparison to before these forums started. I had to learn alone but here there are endless threads to show the processes and also hundreds of smiths that are willing to share.

BTW, Thanks man.

Yea Steve, don't quit! Bruce is one of the makers that motivates me to go out in the hot garage and sweat my tail off every day for hours on end. Smashed fingers or not!

While I'll admit I was being dramatic, I just can't imagine how long it will take before I am able to produce anything that is as pleasing to look at as that knife.

With the wealth of knowledge available here I already feel that I know 10 times more that I did before and I have even touched a piece of steel yet!

It is exciting and scary all at once.

Thanks everyone,

Steve

Have you ever noticed I only show the ones that turned out good? :o
I have a box under the bench with hunks o junk blades, guards, hammers, triggers, hawks, sheaths and about 100 pounds of burned up or flux covered damascus that nobody has seen.

I've only been doing this a short time and I also have a huge pile of guards that were too wide, poorly forged blades that couldn't be saved and damascus that didn't turn out. Aint it fun!
