This seven inch feather pattern fighter is going to a gentleman who specifically wanted it to cut well on the upswing as well as the downswing.

The false edge is ground at nine degrees per side for a combined angle of 18 degrees.

Stabilized crotch wood walnut has been selected for the handle. Stained dark with a deep hand rubbed finish.

The guard and hardware will be wrought iron with silicon bronze spacing and jade green shims.

The blade is ready to heat treat, in the pic with the cutting edge at .0420.

Fred, that is beautiful. It still amazes me how you guy's can figure out which way you have to manipulate the billet to get the pattern you want. I can't wait to see how the hardware turns out. If you're going to be doing any fine filework, would you have the time to do a small WIP for that portion?

Thanks Fred for sharing.

Jeff

Very nice looking pattern. I'm just as amazed as Patrick that you guys can manipulate patterns like that. Although, it reminds me more of fountain than a feather. If ever I need a fancy knife for a knife fight down by the river, that's the one I want with me!

Out of curiosity, at what point do you start the WIP?

Sweet!

I love the feather pattern!

I am looking forward to seeing this one come along.

Great work!

Fred Im guessing that walnut crotch is going to match really well with that feather pattern on the blade. Very cool, can't wait to see how it all comes together. :D
