First of all allow me to say that I have never shipped Fed-Ex nor do I ever plan on doing so.

With that being said I have had the MISFORTUNE of having items that I bought shipped using Fed-Ex 3 times in my life.

Two of those times Fed-Ex misrouted my package so I had to wait an additional 3 days until I received it. Keep in mind that I was already waiting about week for the supposed "expected delivery date". So in total I had to wait 10 days for my package to arrive from only a couple of states over.

I bought a seatpost for a bicycle a couple of weeks ago and the seller decided to ship it using Fed-Ex. Long story short it took 11 days to arrive from Ohio to California. USPS Priority could have had it delivered to my door within two days for nearly the same price. I have had a couple of things shipped from the other side of the world that took 4 days less to arrive!

Please do your buyer/trader a favor and avoid using Fed-Ex at all costs! From now on I refuse to buy from sellers and websites that use Fed-Ex as their main carrier.

Sounds like (FedEx) SmartPost, the bastard child of FedEx & USPS. Slow, without schedule or sense of direction; but cheap.

USPS has always been good to me except of recent. My experience with Fedex on the other hand isn't too great.

No complaints about UPS here.

UPS is good.

However I only use UPS for the rare cases in which I have to ship oversized items. It seems that they are much more experienced in handling large shipments. For small shipments USPS is really the only logical choice.

The only way I will use UPS or FedEx is for next day shipping. Ground shipping is imo the most horrible way to to ship anything. Why people use it instead of USPS is beyond me. What takes a week maybe more for UPS or FedEx usually takes USPS 1 1/2-2 days, even from across country.

FED EX Is Crap.... ONLY Overnight Fed Ex or UPS is worth 2 cents..

UPS and USPS are unionized. FedEx is not unionized and therefore the employees tend to be more overworked and disgruntled. Also, I understand that they are not supported from above,i.e., management, so this attitude is unfortunately passed on to the customer. And you were wondering why your package was damaged by the courier...

A FedEx employee brought this article to my attention, and after reading it I have decided to never patronize FedEx again : http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/boycott_fedex_20100222

Fedex is contracted with the USPS and does most of the usps overnight shipping.....if the usps flies it, it flies via fedex. just so you know...

I've said this before and will do so again, UPS>USPS>Cracked out bicycle messengers>FedEx.

Just wait until the U.S. Mail is privatized via FedEx/Fred Smith, then we will be in trouble. And people complain about the government handling of our mail as smacking of socialism !

Agreed, It is absolutely illogical and irrational to use Ground to send out a small item. For the same price you can ship Priority that would take only a couple of days to arrive while Ground shipping would take about a week. I have had stuff shipped to me from literally the other side of the country (New York to L.A.) using Priority that got here in two days only! If it had been shipped using Ground it would have taken about 10 days.

If someone chooses to ship a knife using Ground over Priority they are mentally ill.

We're talking about Ground/Smartpost shipping which isn't worth a damn.

Yup. I've taken to specifically requesting sellers not use Fed-Ex because I've had several bad experiences. Honestly, mistakes happen and I'm usually pretty understanding about it, but when it takes 5-6 phone calls and several emails to even begin lying to me about fixing your mistake I get a little sick of it.

Unrelated topic but Usps has been very good to me these last few years with all the shipping I've done. The carriers who deliver/pick up to me are defineatly getting nice xmas presents as a thank you for all the deicated hard work they've done this year and last. Thank You USPS. Why ship with UPS or Fedex unless shipping in creates.

Yes, I have shipped out and received about 3,000 items using USPS throughout my whole life. The only problem I have had with them was one time that they accidentally misrouted my package. Other than that all those times they delivered fast and reliably.

Customer service at the post office is another story though. It seems that every post office I go to all the clerks have a REALLY bad attitude and are not interested in helping you.

LOL.:D If that ain't the truth. Most are very crabby. Some are sweet as can be. Their policies about what can ship and for how much differs from person to person and town to town i've seen too. I try to avoid going in their if possible

I've had numerous problems over the years with FedEx Home Delivery and FedEx Ground. In my opinion they are the absolute worst of the carriers I have dealt with.

I have enjoyed excellent service from UPS and mostly very good service from USPS.

My father is a retired letter carrier. I have a loyalty to the USPS and even tried getting hired there once upon a time.

I've always had pleasant and punctual experiences with the USPS.
