I have been reading on the boards and I see a bunch of negative feed back. The last post I read the person is not a member of this site. I just want to ask a simple question. Why would you buy something off these board when the same thing on a auction site for the same price?? Now I have some knifes off of people right here on this boards and I was very happy with the knife that I bought. I also agree we need to suport the people that are here selling or dealer dealing too.

Oline forums cater to specific demographics, whether it is for a specific item or activity. Some examples are cars, pistols, boats, knives, running, dancing, music, etc. These communities are close knit and members know one another either from personal interaction, phone calls, emails, or simply from reading posts. There is a certain amount of trust that is earned and given here and in other boards.

Do you have a problem with people warning or giving. Heads up about a potential problematic person that doesn't share in the "community" aspect? For every bad transaction that you see here, there are over a hundred good ones. There is no way to compare prices either. I've seen stuff sold here for far below what the price is on ebay. It's also sold by people that care about their reputation. I guess I'm not really understanding your question.

I haven't noticed "a bunch" of negative feedback here. I would say its a smaller percentage than on an auction site. I see a higher percentage of people with less than 100% positive feedback there.
People here also have much better communication.

eprey has professional scammers who have been operating for years with big FB ratings 'cause the scammed have no clue their "minty Remington" is a frankenknife but together from mismatched parts.

And all the lying/WAG descriptions and deliberately foggy pictures. 0___0

I would much rather buy here.

when I log in I go to the first page where all of the new posting are place for every one to see. that is where I am seeing the feed back at.

Negative threads generate far more traffic and responses therefore appearing/re-appearing on the "New Posts" page more often than positive threads.

This explains the disproprotionate appearance, but it is nothing more than that.

Take for example all the negative threads you yourself have felt compelled to post in, thus bumping them back to the top. ;)
