I traveled to Slovenia and Paris for a about five days each. While in Slovenia I had no issues cruising BF when connected to WiFi. I did not spend a lot of time online as I was involved with the family, just some quick checks, mainly on the exchange
(I'm sure you all understand.) However, when I was in Paris, it was blocking me from accessing BF, the CRK website, and a vendor (EdgedS......). I cannot remember the warning (something about "Fortified"???), but it was to the effect that BF was a weapons site. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was shocked and dismayed to say the least.
This happened on several different WiFi sources in Paris, so I am thinking this is a restriction France imposes. This happened on the BF site a couple of times and it never did allow me to access BR. I accidentally hit the CRK bookmark instead of the BF bookmark once and got the same results. So I experimented with the E.....S... site and got the same result. Again, unbelievable.
Maybe I don't appreciate my Freedom of Speech (1st Amendment) and the Right to Bear Arms (2nd Amendment) enough. This was a wake up call for me. I'm not a gun nut by any means, and I don't consider my knives weapons (well maybe the Pacific). Anyway, I am out of line? Are the French too close to terrorist threats that this is necessary? Or too close the European wars of the past?
Notes: This is not meant to be a political post, I was just caught off guard by this restriction in France. Also, this was all via WiFi on my smartphone.
