Feedback on Taylor-Schrade Old Timer Stainless

I got an new Imperial Cigar Pattern knife by Taylor and it was very tight but lossen up just fine . I dropped it and broke the pen blade but since it was only 10 bucks I shed no tears.

I received my 36ot yesterday. I'm reasonably pleased and look forward to using it.

The fit and finish is about what you might expect for the price. No major issues but a little rough (gaps in springs, rough proud pins). The only thing requiring immediate attention was the badly ground sheepsfoot, which i reprofiled this morning. I also filed down the kick of the sheepsfoot and the punch so they'll sit a little deeper. One thing that surprised me is the punch is as dull as a spoon. It literally would not be able to punch through anything nor does it have an edge that might be useful for scraping. I mostly prefer a punch for poking, scraping, light prying and anything else I don't want to use a good blade for. I'll need to take that out to the garage this afternoon and start to grind an edge on it.

I am pleased to report that I was able to put a nice sharp edge on the clip and sheepsfoot. The Stainless seems quite serviceable.

Thank you all for the feedback. I'll report back after I've put this knife to work a bit.

This is my Taylor OT8.

That's nice! This tells me a great deal about the Schrade 162OT I have had my eye on (for discreet "city carry"). This is the kind of "inexpensive defense device" that could keep me breathing.

This is good to know.

I have several Taylor Schrades including the one shown and find them all to be good working knives. Sharpen well - basically good knives including the linerlocks.
