Feeler question about "bloody" tutorials.

I was a little surprised about the number of positive replies my "how to skin a frog" post got. I was very happy about the folks responding that had never seen it done. I was most happy about the folks it inspired to actually go and gig, and those that made improvised gigs. So, while it's not easy to work and take pics, I was wondering if any one would be interested in any of the following, which I will be doing in the next week or two:
Preparing a game bird, quail to be exact. Sporting to hunt, but easy to trap. These will be my own raised animals, as it is time to take some of the older birds.
Sharks, abundant in all sorts of saltwater areas, and can be caught on any bait.
Shellfish, specifically scallops. Season is nearing an end and I have a couple snorkeling trips planned.
I know this is old hat to many folks, but if there is anyone than would like to see how to handle these critters, let me know, and I'll post a simple, photo only tutorial that will at least show you how to get some meat from these critters. I'll do a turtle as soon as I get a big soft shell, lost one a few nights ago. Also if anyone is interested, I'll probably do a little post on cooking the quail, while not survival related, definitely camp fare.

Really nobody else wants to see and learn ? Well I do and I would love to look through your posts about anything you mentioned. I have dressed out deer many times and I still like to watch how others do it because maybe they have a better way I will even go out of my way to help others clean a deer .Maybe just maybe I might learn something new.

There was a positive response to the frog post! I just want to make sure this type of stuff os going to be deemed forum appropriate. The pics can be somewhat graphic, but I think educational for those unfamiliar. I figure if a survival situation occurs, its going to be in an unfamiliar environment. I think if we share the basic concepts of preparing what may be unfamiliar fare, it increases our chances in unfamiliar environments. Just trying to gauge the general consensus on the subject.
.

I didn't post before but really liked the frog cleaning. I love tutorials on most any subject involving the outdoors and game cleaning. Always like to see how others do it, and the tools they do it with. Bring on the photo tutorials.

Frogs are something that I eat from time to time, so seeing another way to clean them was pretty cool. I would definitely be interested.

I'd love to see this sort of practical information. Part of surviving in the natural environment is understanding broadly how to interact with it...including as food.

Absolutely. If this isn't a wilderness skill, what is?

Since some people aren't into processing harvested animals, perhaps we could go with a Graphic Pictures warning on that sort of thread. But the information itself is 100% appropriate.

It might be better in the Hunting & Fishing forum than in Wilderness & Survival Skills. What do you think? I doubt I would move it from here to there myself, but there might be a question in other people's minds.

Quail, shark, scallops...im interested in it all

As to where the thread belongs...well, WSS is as good as H&F, i guess.

I'll absolutely post some sort of warning Esav.
But posting this sort of stuff in Hunting and Fishing is kinda like preaching to the choir, if you know what I mean. I'm hoping to show folks that might not normally be exposed to the down and dirty portion of it. Kill a ten point buck? Hunting and fishing for sure. Show how to skin, gut, and dehydrate strips of said buck, I think that is WSS. It's up to you, I respect your opinion. I'll just post a "graphic" warning as I have in the past, and hope everyone here realizes than meat comes from animals, you need to know how to get it. Thanks fellas. And if I post something out of the way Esav, let me know brother.

At this point, I would let you decide, and see how the discussions go. I don't think it's a problem here -- it is an overlap. Hunting, yes, but a critical survival skill. We talk about The End Of The World As We Know It. Who is going to butcher the animals to survive>

I didn't post in the frog gigging thread, but as far as I'm concerned, it's WSS material, how to kill, how to dress, how to butcher, cooking it, well that all depends on the scenario, but I'd say that to keep the thread coherent that cooking it should stay in the same thread as well, there's always room for recipes in food & drink.

My goal this year was to go pig hunting, I've watched and re-watched at least a dozen tutorials on youtube, which I might add is an awesome resource to link to for threads like this, at least for me, I learn from seeing.

If you happen to get a turtle I would be very interested in that tutorial. Would like to see how you do it. I will 'probably' never see a shark in real life, but would not mind seeing that either.

you might mind seeing a shark in real life
