Feeler question about "bloody" tutorials.

Fishshooter, while I didn't comment on your frog processing thread, I did appreciate it. I'm a city kid and don't really have anyone to show or teach me how it's (processing game, I mean) all done.

Thanks again.

I would love to see all of it! It never hurts to learn new things and/or freshen up on. I don't remember if I replied to the frog thread but it all came back to me after reading it. Lol. Good job!

Im looking forward to seeing the Turtle one. Ive ate turtle but never cleaned one.

I feel that hunting and fishing skills are wilderness and survival related.

Sounds great and I would leave it here as it falls in the "Skills" part perfectly. I would love to see all of them

Fishshooter,

When I ran HuntFlix I carried pretty much every DVD available on processing game. They were always top sellers and were literally showstoppers. I had a big flat panel TV set up in my booth at the different sportsmen's shows and when I ran the game processing DVDs, EVERYBODY stopped and watched. Some old f@rts just wanted to smugly let everyone know that their technique was better. Some parents planted their little ones in front of the screen and said, "Billy, this is what you're going to do this fall."

This is great information to have and I look forward to your tutorials. I spoke to several producers about making a small game, bird & fish DVD but to my knowledge, nobody has. (But I've been away from things for a couple of years now.) From my vantage point, it appeared like this was a real void in what was available.

Like Esav said, placing a "graphic/bloody" warning in the title should be sufficient.

Keep in mind, though, that while the skills are W&SS "relate", we now have an actual Hunting & Fishing forum.

Yep. The difference being something you already stated (or someone did).

They likely already know how to do it all, whilst some of us do not know how to gut/clean some things.

I hunt and fish all the time, but seeing new ways to do things is always a bonus, and if there is a more efficient way to do it, it would be a good idea to post it here as a survival skill, in my opinion.

pictures can say more than words so post away . if someone from peta complains, they can starve if all heck breaks loose and there are no more stores to get food from :D

I love W&SS tutorial threads. Anything that expands our knowledge of outdoorsy-type skills seems appropriate to me.

I agree it should be kept here. I never go to fishing and hunting except every once in awhile to see if there are any trap threads.

Hmmm ... reading that, I think I should move all these threads to Hunting & Fishing to get all you stick-in-the-mud types to get out and look around! (Hunting & Fishing was split off as the other half of W&SS, after all.)

Well I got a little blacktip shark this evening. I went ahead and bled it, put it on ice, and will process it in the AM. It was too dark to get any pics. Quail coming up in a few days. Going fishing tomorrow too and will pick up a few blue crabs to clean too. I'll post a little trick for getting these things with minimal gear.

Be gentle, Esav. In another few months I'll officially be a senior citizen. :(
