True, but I also think a lot of people may or may not be aware the original design is to use that notch to hold down the wire and use the main blade to do the cutting, then you could proceed to use the notch to do the stripping. Also it can double as a a coat hanger/wire bender.

I’ve tried it before and it does work, but I find myself just using the small blade as it was less cumbersome. That’s where I thought his modification would be pretty slick and quick.

I have one of his books. His videos are the reason I started carrying my Huntsman everyday. Started almost two years ago now. SAK's are seen more as kid's knives around here than serious tools. It's a shame. They're handy.
