Fenix Flashlights

I got my LD10 about 6 months ago and its a solid light. Its my EDC when I dont or cant carry something a little bigger like my Strion C4 LED. Its also nice having all the different brightness levels and running off one AA. On mine when the battery gets low the digital regulation has a little bit of trouble and starts to flicker just a bit...not much but I can see it.

Since I do IT work I use it a bunch when cralwing under desks. If I ever lose it I will buy another one. If my rechargables are running low I have also used the LD10 at night when shutting the chicken coop and putting the dog up. I live out in the sticks and its does a great job of lighting everything up.

Are you stuck on AA lights? I've recently been looking at the 4sevens Quark 123² but it runs on CR123's. Also if you can carry something bigger the Strion C4 LED is a bad ass light for its size...amazing throw and runtime.

A link would be great! :)

They are pretty readily available at grocery stores and wal-marts and what not. Just check em' out next time you are in the battery/electronics section. I only have access to the AA Energizer brand (2450Mah type). I have maybe 12-16 of them at this point. I buy them in a 4-pack and they come complete with the wall charger for $10-13 a pack. I am no battery guru, but these don't seem to stay charged when I just charge them and store them. I generally have to charge them right before I put them in my flashlight/remote/xbox controller/whatever and then they work fine.

I love Fenix lights. I have right now the E20, LD20, and PD20 from Fenix. The PD is my EDC light. It offers amazing brightness for its small size and single 123 battery. Whenever I set out after dark, however, I take my LD20 with me just because I have the rechargeable batteries for it.

Quark lights also offer the same levels of performance as Fenix (they generally use the same LEDs) for around the same price. I recently got a Quark AAx2 Tactical and I like it quite a bit.

I have a LD20, LD10, LD01 and a few older AAA lights. I like them all. Really bright. I have the LD01 on my key chain and it throws out a lot of light for something so small. I bought a Fenix AAA light for everyone in my family to carry on their keys.

Fenix makes a great light for the money. Olight is worth a look too. In the few models I've used (the AA varieties) they seem more or less on par with Fenix

I have an L1d, which is currently the ld10. It is very bright for a 1 AA light, I just wish I had gotten the L2d. If anyone wants to trade, email me.

aside from beefing up my FAK, 2 of the ld20's (205 lumen version) are going to be my next non-blade related purchase. i've heard great things about them, although some people dislike the fact that they're made on foreign soil and offer a questionable warranty. i haven't seen many abuse tests for em online, but the price point and positive feedback from users swayed me from surefire.

The Fenix lights are a really solid value for the price, and I own several. IMHO, they are the best value in a commonly available solid workhorse light. There are a few less easily available companies that might beat them in terms of value - Wolf Eyes and Deerelight come to mind immediately as putting out some great lights for the bucks, but Fenix is everywhere and give you lots of bang for the buck. Awesome lights.

Edit: I forgot to mention Olight, which also puts out a phenomenal value, and MG lights are pretty awesome too. Good luck finding those at your local REI, though :D

me too. I have 2 LD20s (a Q5 and an R4) and had 2 LD10s (my 3 year old lost the Q5 and I got the R4 as a replacement). I got them as emergency lights for the home and truck, since they run on AAs - and there are always AAs lying around. I do not recommend alkalines as they leak. I keep a pair of Energizer lithiums in the one in the truck and the ones in the house use Eneloop rechargeables.

I've wanted to try a 4Sevens Quark (due to their moonlight mode), but haven't had the reason to buy one. For all you Canucks, MEC now carries the Quark.

However, I EDC a Surefire L1 Lumamax and my wife uses an E1B Backup.

I love my Fenix, edc a PD30 at work. Its a environment with oil, ink, petroleum and what not. It holds up GREAT.
Put some aluminum based anti-seize on the theards to keep oil and other crap outside. Its been dropped on steel floorings more than i can remember and it doesnt stop preforming. And still on the original Lithium batteries after a year of everyday use. The Different output levels is ideal in my work.
Probably getting a TA30 for in the car.

I also have a Surefire E2L and won't trade for the life of me. SF light are bombproof and almost indestructible but Fenix' are just so much more affordable.

Eneloops are pretty nice batteries. I use them in my RC car transmitter. For my lights, no other than CR123A's

so you guys would reccommend the EO1? looks like a good key chain light and good price?

I have been carrying a Fenix E01 on the key chain with my car keys for a couple of years now. Even though I usually carry another flashlight on my belt, the E01 is the one I'm most likely to pull out when I need some light. (And I'm thinking of putting one in my survival kit in place of a Photon Freedom.)

My TK11 arrived this week. Ordered it based on research & positive experience of a fellow worker who has been carrying one in the field for 6 months. It is fantastic and plenty tough; also it has the new R5 LED which throws 285 lumens. The whole package with two rechargable LC 18650 batteries & charger was less than $100 shipped. I would definately recommend it as money well spent especially as it is an essential tool for me. Need to find a better pouch for it though.

i'm a surefire guy as well but i've read really good reviews on fenix lights so i ordered a pd20 & e01 for testing as my edc lights last week. my first impression and after a week of use is the fit & finish are excellent especially given the price. i'm keeping my surefire as my weapon-mounted light only because it's working fine and i'd rather not spend more money buying another larue mount. but for other uses i think i'll definitely consider fenix first. glad a lot of members here think highly of them as well since i took a chance on it.

For those of you who had the Q5 fenix lights like the LD10 or 20 and now have an R4 version, do you prefer it to the Q5? some have said its too blue in color, what do yall think?

Great info guys, thanks alot, and keep the stories coming.

btw, yall have been a lot more helpful than the fellas over at candlepower forums.
