Fenix lights

Nitecore D10 (old UI, preferred) I have has been solid. I think it's actually put together nicer than any of my Fenixs, but I generally reach for the Fenix LD10+ first, for the simple UI and runtime. Build quality and feel is excellent, with a piston drive switch that whispers quality with every use. It feels more like my HDS U60, rather than any of the Fenixs I've owned. Mine will not be going anywhere. Highly recommended.

Can't really comment on 4Sevens stuff, but it's on the list for next upgrade. The mini is a steal, and the regular has got that 'moon-light' lovin'. Owners are often ecstatic, and his products are cutting edge, designed for the CPF crew which is picky-picky-picky :)

Face it, you'll likely end up with both eventually :D. Don't fight it. Just go for whatever catches your eye first, or the better deal  Can't go too far wrong with any of your choices.

I think Fenix lights are fantastic. I have a LD10 and love it. I plan on getting an LD20 as well. If you are curious about the quality and durability of their lights under tactical use, look up Nutnfancy's videos on youtube. He reviews several fenix lights and shows himself using the lights underwater and in snow covered woods, etc.

Take any AA / AAA run light and stick it in your freezer for a couple of days. The batteries will take a major hit.

Did he shoot a gun next to one?

I have to say that I like the idea behind me Surefire lights..... but, I love my Fenix lights. The only reason I even own Surefires anymore is I like to tinker and the 6p is best host available for selection. My go to light is a little 3 mode, 1 cell, CR123 Fenix light (can't remember the name). I absolutely love it.

Another thing that I enjoy about Fenix lights is reading the back of the boxes..... It gives me the warm fuzzies to think that a Chinese company cares so much about cranking out a quality product (a rare thing) that they don't even bother to spend the money to have the blurb on the box written in proper English..... they seem to know what they are...... a good flashlight company that doesn't need expensive advertising.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.
